winch debate

You can allways just run your winch line under the jeep and let the axel tubes guide the winch line. I've seen it pre run and attached to the rear bumper before nosing into mud hole. Don't forget the synthetic line turns to goo when it hits the exhaust pipe.

Anyone who is leaning towards a TMax should check Summit Racing, as they sell rel-labelled winches under the Summit brand that are actually TMax winches for significant savings over a TMax stickered winch.

Ive actually got a video of a backwards winching somewhere, I'll try to find it.

Thanks for the link Ray!

OK, now that I have a headache, I will have to get some string and try it.

I just can not wrap my brain around that diagram at all. Seems to me that all that would happen is you'd pull all the anchors out.

Doesn't even touch your basic "nosed into ditch and my front winch is burried" senerio :bawl:

I know this thread is dying but I have a ramsey rep 8.5 and it was mounted on my 1981 cherokee that weighed roughly 6500 lbs. it pulled it out of some bad situations, straight up hills and buried a few times. I know it is very slow but for what my 96 will weigh when it is done I don't think I will burn it up anytime soon. When I replace it I will probably go with a patriot or go superwinch.
