What'cha Break at JV? (Carnage tally)

I made the mistake of taking 2 percosets last night... That was a little to much, I got a bit dizzy and some nausia and got really hot. layed down and it went away. but what bothers me is that I felt no pain at all, I could bend over and touch my toes and stuff. so I got some things done... big mistake because I am pretty soar today.
If I take the Flexerel then I just wanna sleep, so I take that before bed.

Definately don't over do it. I've had a few friends that had some back problems and they did some permanent damage by doing to much. Damn glad I haven't every had that issue.

That trail was hard on us, and a couple of us took good falls. After two weeks my left hand (left handed) is still sore and slightly swollen from jamming my fingers sideways, and my knee is still pretty sore from smacking it on a rock.

I think I'll stay in the Jeep more....... :)

Goatman, you can always stretch out in the back seat of my doorless jeep and hitch a ride back up to your jeep. I'll even remove the seatbelt so it don't jab you in the kidneys...

After you said you took a good fall I was expecting you to say you had a broken hip.

Gonna have to get him one of those buttons to hang around his neck??? Help I've fallen and I can't get up????? :gag:

My grandma has a walker she doesn't use anymore. I was thinking of sending it to him for X-mas.

FYI... Finally finished my repairs. At least enough to make it driveable again ;)

Avery's fall had the potential to be very nasty. I was astonished when he got up with no blood on his face.

Topsiders in the snow, and Vans in the summer. :D

Crackers fall was funny, though it wasn't funny. He fell off of about a five foot rock and his arms and legs were flailing on the way down......cute. :D

Like Ron, I was surprised he didn't hurt himself.

Ryan, thanks for the offer, especially getting rid of that pesky seatbelt buckle. :)

You guys are making me think we should have a safety meeting before each run. Cover how you should not climb ont he rocks while out of your rig.

Richard, I'll take care of you next time we're on a run together. I've got a dog leash just for you, kind of a harnes. I told dad they should be a requirement if your under 4 or over 60. For you I can lower that upper limit to 55. Damn I knew you were old but not that old. :D

Nah, I'll just start wearing lots of padding.

:D

But, the safety meeting might be a good idea. Have to expand the content of the normal pre-run drivers meeting. Suggestions on what we should cover?

:)

Definition of what constitutes a hiking boot, maybe packing a parachute.

Your expecting to much from me.

1. If you are prone to falling down and need a cane, we will provide you a loner.

2. If you see a snake or scorpion don't try to kiss them. That will cause the beggining of a bad day.

3. Rocks are made of an unsually hard substance. If you fall on them it will hurt.

4. Please refrain from falling.

5. If you fall and here laughter, it wasn't the people around you. The bump on your head caused confusion.

6. (Serious) We should hand out flags. If your hurt drape the flag over your face otherwise resume laughing.

Did I do good?

Well, maybe I had more carnage than I thought!
Doc called today and asked how my pain has improved since the run.
I said about 10-15%. It seems that Radiology took a closer look at my x-ray's. I have to go get a CT scan because he said that fractures on your spine don't show up well on x-rays! There is a bit of swelling around my L-5 and it seems that I may have fractured it.
I'm laughing about it because my Wife said I was fine. I though so too. But on the bright side, I will get a refill on my percoset!
goodnight.

Damn Ryan, I almost feel sorry for calling you a whiner...

...almost...

 to the RBV

Standing over Farmer Matt's rig on one particular obstical. I was on a boulder about 6-7' up. I went to step down to a ledge that was closer to his jeep so that I could sit on my but and try pushing his jeep around with my legs. both feet slipped and I dropped, catching my ass/tailbone on the ledge I meant to stand on. Then I dropped down a couple more feet almost under his rig. The impact of my ass on the ledge knocked me pretty good. I stayed upright and was able to scramble out of the way so I didn't get run over. I guess it was a stupid move on my part. I went back to driving and letting everyone else play caltrans and push on jeeps. I did better as a driver than as a spotter.
Damage to my spine can't be to bad I am still walking and doing stuff. I just have to be carefull how I bend over and what I lift.
The real bitch is sitting in that Damn freightliner truck for 4-5 hours driving up to LA and back. Now that Hurts!
I will heal up fine. I am sure they will renew my scription to help recovery be less painfull. I am just scared of being plagued with back problems the rest of my life. Sigh
