what is the best bolt on longarm kit

between the tnt and the rubicon express kits they both have you drill holes but the are both bolt on for sure. You don't want a kit you have to weld on because the xj uni-body is 16 gauge steel and most suspension kits use 3/16" or bigger steel. not good for the frame. but like people say, everyone has an opinion

This kit: http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=IROR&Product_Code=IR-X_6LK Works great. I dont own there long arm kit but have seen it in action in Gilbert and liked what I saw. I agree the TNT kit is great, but for mr the ease of just dropping a skid would be better than the whole belly pan on the TNT kit.
That is a really scary looking kit, theres way better out there,Hell Id do the Rusty's kit before that! Not to mention the loss of ground clearance that those cheasy brackets will see when they get landed on!

The best kit is the one that has the best ground clearance. Check out the crossmember and the frame side mounting point for the arms to see which kit is designed with the highest mounting point, and so best ground clearance. If the arm mounts are below the frame then eliminate that kit from your list, as the decrease in gorund clearance could give you worse trail perfornace than if you just did drop brackets.

I'd look real close at the TnT kit, which I believe has the best ground clearance for both the mounts and the arms.

you don't loose much ground clearance. I protects the transfer case. ustys kit doesn't have jam nuts on the arms and will wear out the threads on the arms. seen it happen many times.

Jam nut - 2 bucks ... problem solved!

i just put on a tnt not too long ago... no welding... thatsy why the website says 100% bolt on. and that skid is freakin cockdiesel... and the price really isnt that bad... i thought about re drop brackets, but then for all the stuff i was going to need (new upper and lower CA's brackets/braces) the price difference was really not that significant ie 200 or so bucks... so why not shell out the clams to get a better kit in the long run.... i dont regret it a bit.

Actually maybe not, their early arms used rubber bushings which couldnt take the flex,so the jam nut broke loose.I believe now they offer a flex-joint.

I see what you're gettin at. Then buy super duper flex joints and a $2 jam nut and you're fine!

Why would you buy a kit for your jeep that obviously has been so poorly thought out that they wouldn't include a $2 dollar jam nut in the first place?

If they forget something that stupid...whatelse did they overlook?
