- rebuild traction bar DONE
- might rebuild tracbar maybe later when i do other front suspension changes - DONE
- tighten & grease ballistic joints DONE
- get new CB antenna DONE
- fix fog lights
- fix rock lights DONE
- change valve cover gaskets DONE
- change oil DONE
- change front & rear diff fluid DONE
- top off trans & tcase DONE
- a few other things I'm sure...

Oh, and fill out my Crawl registration DONE

- build truss for rear axle housing DONE
- swap out all 4 calipers for better brakes DONE
- make box for cooler DONE
- paint diff covers DONE

Just gotta pack jeep with tools/parts and get camping gear and food together now...

Got the rear quarter in relatively close stock position and bolted the fender flare back on. Swapped radios in the dash and hooked up the sirius.

Trying to muster the ambition to go out and hook up the new cb antenna, but my enthusiasm is waning.

Well turns out I'm gonna need a new power steering pump. I just don't think I can get one in before the trip. Hopefully it doesn't ruin the trip for me.

My list has gotten bigger this weekend...
Last night Dan I drove to down town in the Jeeps (Team Willys reunited!) and I discovered that 4 out of 6 of my plug wires were burnt and arching out badly so fixing those and my exhaust leaks was this mornings task. Of course, since she has headers the $30 factory replacement wires wont work, so I had the privilege of buying the $100 MSD wires that I still had to assemble myself. So after getting that all wrapped up, I fired it up only to discover the check engine light was on. Pulled the codes with the scan tool and turns out the TPS took a dump on me, so looks like I get to change that out tomorrow.

Popped the cover off the front diff this morning and was extremely pleased at what I saw. Fluid was a little dirty from initial break in, but no metal shavings came out. Filled it back up with new oil and don't plan on opening it back up anytime soon.

Now, i've all of a sudden got a loud, metal on metal, rotational clank coming from what I believe is either the tcase (231 I just did an AA SYE and swapped in a month ago), the rear driveshaft, or the 8.8 (god forbid...). The catch is it's very random, but very loud when it does happen. Won't do it long enough for me to get a good listen and try to trouble shoot. Had the rear end up in the air and spun things by hand, everything seemed fine. Guess i'm going to do that again tomorrow night and see if I can see anything else. It also only happens in gear and under load (accelerating)..and it's immediately after accelerating as well.

Yep! it was built with the KISS method but it still needs modern technologies to work as good as possible!

Called advanced and will have a pump tomorrow. Is it worth trying to rebuild my old one or just buy one like I did this time?

That is what I was thinking.... not sure on waranty. This one that is on there now was put on 2 years ago at the cabin on the hill at Harlan. the same crawl that I threw the rear shaft on the pre run!

Then I have to figure out where to pack all the raffle stuff.

It's running a tbi 4.3..... All you have to do is wire an led to the circuit for the check engine light and voila! Your 1940s vintage vehicle will yell you when its sick
