I've worked 30 years in manufacturing for an S&P MidCap 400 biomedical instrument company as site manager for a $7 mil per year in-house printing and label converting operation. It's a turn-key business, from customer service, estimating, electronic prepress, offset, flexo, high-speed digital print and CD-R duplication through support, quality and shipping functions.
The upside… it's like having my own business with budget, staffing and P&L responsibility and I'm well positioned for a management buyout. The downside… until that opportunity presents itself, if it ever does… I'm strapped to the corporate politics and initiatives.
Its been a good career ...
On the side, I've spent the last two years designing and testing a mechanism that will serve the home improvement industry… and soon will be seeking a patent and potential market acceptance.
