Weekend is over...what did you get done?

I parted out more of my 99 and made some money. Bought a bunch of stuff to rebuild our deck and went to work the last two days. Finally finished my last classes for my 1st degree last week, so it's been nice to have that load off my shoulders for the summer.

Congrats!

When does he work on his stuff? It seems I always see him posting pictures of his rig lately.

When he's not completely rebuilding his. Although he's moving pretty quick, chassis goes to paint this weekend barring any unforeseen difficulties. Then we'll reinstall everything for the last time

Problem is the shop is so small its a one rig at a time deal.

I thought it was small. I just didn't know how many rigs he was doing at once.

Where is he posting stuff? Is there a build thread?

His old Pirate4x4 thread hasn't been updated since 2011 and that is the only one I was aware of......other than a few Facebook images Shortxjdoug has been posting.

I have a few hundred pictures of it. Its going to be awesome, he hasn't been updating anything because all he does is eat sleep and work on it. July is getting here fast and its a bare chassis right now

Working on getting this thing stripped down

I got a new Jeep this weekend! Well, not really new. I bought it 6 years ago...but it seems like a new Jeep.

In the last 2 weeks I put new bushings in the LCAs, put new u-joints in both front shafts, put new centering pins in the rear leafs so that they now go through the shims and into the axle plate, put new bushings in my leaf springs, swapped my springs from side to side (and for whatever reason, the Jeep sits level now), and installed the shackle relocation brackets from HD Offroad.

She rides like a Cadillac compared to how it used to be. Sometimes it rides a bit like a Lincoln Town Car with the bad air bags. The rear bounced a lot on the first test drive. I reinstalled the rear tire carrier and got more weight on the back and it rode a lot smoother than the test drive. I haven't had it up to speed on the interstate yet. Looking forward to that test.

The shackles are at about 40*, which seem to be within tolerance. The shackles and the shackle box are touching though, and the shackle box is starting to groove the shackle. I'll just keep my eye on it over the next few runs.

Drove to Florida Friday to see my nephew graduate from college Saturday. Drove home Sunday. Cut out the sheet metal above the driver side spring mount and added a plate. Will add the support tomorrow.
