Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Flew to New Orleans for work today and immediately got in the car and drove 90 miles to Biloxi Mississippi. Visited the Hard Rock Cafe in Biloxi which is the 50th one that I've been in. Made a quick stop at the beach and I'm headed back to New Orleans. I saw a pick and pull on the side of the road just inside the Mississippi border so I may stop.

Had my wisdom teeth pulled there also when I was there! Some 12 years a ago though!

The COL was old, pardon me, experienced enough he could possibly be the same guy. I swear it's some sort of wicked rite of passage at this post.

This weekend I spent laid up in bed recovering from getting my wisdom teeth yanked out of my skull with local anesthetic only. That was a wonderful experience. Still dealing with the recovery but at least I can go to class and attempt to eat some foods at the dining facility.

I need to have mine taken out. I needed to have them taken out 4 years ago but never did it. Now I really need to...

Note: Anti-Seize and Thread Locker Compounds are NOT the same.

Consequently, pinion bolts prefer thread locker over anti-seize and double cardan joints do not like eating pinion bolts.

The shop that built the driveshaft never greased the centering ball and slip joint. Now it is "out of warranty" despite it being a screw up on their end and expect me to pay for the repairs.

My "weekend of getting things done" continues.

I ordered a traction bar kit from HO bag today. Should get to that Tuesday-Wednesday when I'm off. On my spring break I'll be doing a cowl hood everyday before work. Ever growing list of stuff to do just because.

A cowl hood?

Yea he said something about having heat soak issues somewhere..... I thought that was mainly with the 00 and 01's though.

Yeah this weekend on the trail I would start sputtering and it would die on me like a heat soak issue. I'd let it cool for 10 min with the hood up and fan running and I never had an issue. Same thing happened at gulches in October.

What have you changed recently to make the engine bay hotter? I have wheeled my 94 sense 2007 and never had that problem. Now it would be hot as fire under the hood which is why I added Vents from a Datsun.

I'll give you $3.00 to NOT do a cowl hood.

I'm telling you... pop some holes in the hood on either side and hit them with a dimple die. Put the holes where they aren't directly over key electrical components and they'll be fine.

I'd say you have another issue, though. My completely stock cooling system does just fine. All I did was wire the fan to run all the time. No overheating. No vents. Stock everything.

Gulches was the first trip after my rebuild. New thermostat-195, but the gauge isn't any higher than it used to be. I don't know what it is. My fan is on a switch to run all the time too.

I'd just do vents but I can't find any I like local. Maybe I'll go to the JY tomorrow.

Get some Datsun ones. If they aren't open talk to Mike.......

So, it's not going over 210*?

Weekend started early for me. I drove to the Alabama/Tennessee State line and looked at a clean 1998 Grand Cherokee. Took it home.
