Weekend is over...what did you get done?

TNT is still radius arms. You want HDOR or clayton or even rock crawler but the first two are Naxja sponsors

HDOR would be great except I don't have the skills to build the arms and weld in the brackets.

Clayton is nice but expensive. Rock Krawler is great price-wise but I'm worried the lack of a strong crossmember and not having the skills to weld in the brackets with be a problem.

You'd be fine. The lack of a cross member isn't a problem. It would be nice but it's not a problem. Welding the brackets would be a good idea but not necessary (I didn't, probably should). You do have to weld the slugs in the frame, though.

I don't push the skinny pedal as hard as some of these guys do but if it don't go up easy on the 3rd try then the pedal is going to the floor. I've never had a single issue out of my RK long arms. The only thing that could be nicer is if the brackets didn't hang below the frame. That would be pretty tough to do for a big box manufacturer since you'd basically have to go through the floor with the upper link.

Either way, from what I've seen of your wheeling (not the pedal to the floor kinda guy) the RK stuff would never give you trouble.

/RK sales pitch.

Andy @ Ironman has the best strongest arms IMHO. I'm sure someone in your area would come weld it for you.

I don't see his longarms listed anywhere. Does he still make them?

Yea he does. He told me this summer he dialed back some products because he took on a job he was asked to do with some church association. IIRC he was the lead on these youth groups going to western NC to help the communities build handicap ramps and fix peoples houses. Like a Forman I guess. Basically Eden his wife was running the show. He's a hell of a guy and stands behind his stuff. Give him a call and ask. Or an email.

I found them but they are temporarily unavailable.

After what Lowrange2 said about the Rock Krawler stuff, this option is cheap and looks good to me.

Yea like I said this summer he dialed back his production this summer. I think I saw him post something about making a set of long arms recently. Email him. Tell him I said to get back to work! ;)

Radius arms are a thing of the past. The unpredictable unloading of them sucks and can be scary in sketchy places. A true 3 link is the way to go.

Ok, I know I should search but who offers a 3-link? Rock Krawler and HDOR?

Who makes the scary radius arm kits?

And clayton. BDS makes a true 4 link too.

Pretty much everyone because it's simple to build. RE, RC, TNT, ironman... Iron rock uses a wristed radius arm.

Rock krawler is beef. The ls2 xj has off te shelf rk kits for the front and rear on it. I wouldnt worry one bit about the lack of crossmember

If you want to pick a weekend and build the hdor kit just let me know. I need to come out there and get my wheels an headliner from mark. We could make a wrenchfest out of it, seeing as the only safe way a manche headliner will make it home is installed :D

But I like my Clayton radius arms... Yeah, they're radius arms but I have given them hell and they have stood up to all of it. I wish I had their 3 link, but it is what it is.

All the radius arm kits are the same pretty much. Sam's 3 link that Doug built is sweet and is what got me thinking after justin did his.

You can only know true happiness once youve driven a crawler with a well setup 3 link. Radius arms are just not enough function for the use our rigs see
