Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Dead thread. I finally got this installed

Need to order rollover valve grommets for the top of the tank and it should be good to go after that. Still a long list to go before Harlan.

Not a bad company to work for.

I think i'll just take the cost of the phone off my taxes next year. Much easier than fighting the people I work for to do the right thing....

Started my weekend off by going to the home opener for our local baseball team. It was the first game in a brand new stadium that was built downtown during the off season. It was a close game but we didn't win. Went all the way to the bottom of the 12th before we lost 8-6.

Got a hold of Josh's pressure washer yesterday and took 12 years of weather off my deck.

Up next will be a quick treatment with some cleaner to get anything I missed, then seal and stain.

Finally got the XJ lifted! Ended up being about 3" in the back and, I haven't measured yet, but looks to be about 2" in the front. And SUPER happy about the way it rides! My front-end has clunked for the past 8 years. It's so quiet now.

Stock XJ UCA's, Stock WJ LCA's, V8 ZJ coils, stock JK shocks, broken-in Rough Country leafs, MJ shackles.

Took the girls to Turkey Bay for the annual clean up day. It was pretty successful. We cleaned 4 campsites and about 200 yards of shoreline. It wasn't nearly as trashed as last year. We came out with 3 NAXJA onion bags full of garbage. I did pretty well at the drawing at the end of the day also. I got 3 free weekend passes to the park ($45 worth of admission), as well as one free night of camping.

End the weekend with the engine, trans and tcase back where it all goes. Just need to put the back half of the exhaust on and get the ac charged back up.

I paid some attention to the other toy. I love my old BMW! New bilstein shocks and struts, h&r sport springs and replaced all the front suspension components. It handles pretty Damn good now!

Saturday fixed a pipe in my girlfriends yard and cut my grass. Came to retrieve the "Beat up Benz" from the office and try and trouble shoot the intermittent starting problem. Of course when I have someone to try and start it while I trace electrics it fires right up..... :banghead: Anyone have an experience with a 96 E300 Diesel? :banghead:

Spent Saturday working on cleaning up my lot where we're going to build.

Lit the brush pile to burn.

Sat around while it burned.

Before my Dad left with the fire truck I played with the water turret mounted on the front bumper. Think: Mega water gun with in-cab controls.

Sunday I cleaned out the Jeep...

That's it.

Couple weekends ago I did this to my tow rig...

Got it buttoned back up with new intake manifold gaskets and fuel injector spider.

I think the old one was leaking just a bit...

No more hard start, smooth idle and I can't smell raw fuel in the cab anymore. Next the Jeep gets pulled in for shackle relo boxes and misc other projects between now and Harlan.

Looks like a 96-97 350 vortec with the spider injection. I have the same issues with my 96...... bought the new MPFI conversion then my trans went out(3-4 clutch pack) so naturally that took the lead and is where I am now. If you need any insight into the trans, let me know, I have mine in a million billion pieces right now. Gonna do a semi full rebuild(trans only had 10k on it when the clutches went out).......Z pack clutches, piston with molded seal, all seals, corvette servos, and finally a mild shift kit to keep it from slipping in between gears.

Did you do the MPFI conversion, or new spiders?

Yep, Vortec 350 in a '00 OBS K2500. The truck has 240k on it, but unknown if the engine/trans are the original build. The intake had been done previously, but whoever did it cheaped out and re-installed plastic gaskets. :banghead:

The spider was a whole new conversion unit from RockAuto. I had already been into the plenum once to replace the fuel pressure regulator, thinking that was causing it to run rich, but as it turned out the whole meter body was bad.

I have the 4L80E trans, hopefully it will hold together for a while longer. It does have a slight shudder going into lockup, but I plan on a filter/fluid service soon to hopefully remedy that.

Oh ok. 4l80's seemed to have some lock up issues. Great trucks though. I miss driving mine.......its been down for over a month and I just don't have the time to finish it. I want a 14 bolt for mine eventually. Good luck with it.
