Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Rear glass? What do ya need that for? You're just going to knock it out again.

NO! The 98 is going to be mainly DD duty for the boys and my occasional stock road trip that requires 4wd.

I got a legal separation over the weekend!

I now own my house, 4 of the 5 Jeeps(kept all the XJ's, she didn't want them they are always broke down LOL!) and some bills to pay off!

She kept the JK and got half the equity out of the house and has no bills.

We have joint custody of our only minor child, and no child support either way

My new life began on Friday!

Sounds like a good deal to me! Congrats, hope to see you come out more now!

I was putting my front skid plate back on tonight and noticed that I have scored and dented my oil pan with the upper control arm. That could have been bad had it punched through. I guess I need to look at some hockey pucks.

Anyone else ever had the issue of busting an oil pan with suspension parts like that?

Mine is scratched and dented a little from my steering, but not enough for me to worry about...yet

Same... the upper control arm (at least on a stockish suspension geometry rig) mangles the edge of the flange right near where the trans cooler lines go by, in fact it's known for crimping and cutting the cooler lines, the steering links definitely hit the oil pan if you're minimally bumpstopped though. My bumpstops are 250 thousand mile stockers with probably half the rubber missing and I bottom it out pretty hard fairly frequently... oil pan is scarred from the steering hitting it but not leaking.

Same here. I'm on the factory bumpstops and I rode them through URE with my 31's. My tires stuffed in the fender perfectly and didn't rub enough to bother me, so I was on them a good bit. I expect that to go away once I bumpstop for the 33's though, they definitely don't tuck haha

Is that a bumpstop in your pocket or are you just glad to see me?!

My usual lift recipe is:
3.5-4.5"
33s
rip the sway bar off
fold the pinch seams over
trim the fenders until the tires don't hit them anymore.

If I go 35s/37s in the future I am going to have to actually think about bumpstopping properly.

Got a picture of how much you had to chop your fenders? I wanna see the setup

I basically just cut about 1/4" outside the stock flares on the front. It's an MJ so the rears stuff fine with slight flare trimming on the trailing end.

Back in the day..... 10 years or so ago. It was not uncommon to run 33x10.50's with 3" of lift. It worked well. I've also seen guys run the 34 LTB with about 3" too.

You've not seen mine since I hacked up the fenders have you?

Not up close, only when I passed you in the snow and when I saw you on Wilkinson once

Nice, that's about where I planned on cutting, I just don't have a set of stock flares to go off of, didn't have them when I got the Jeep

Yeah I don't wanna go any higher if I can help it, I like the stability of my sagging 3" lift, and as a bonus it looks bad ass too haha

You can probably see the line between the faded paint and the dirt stained / scuffed paint where the flare used to cover... at least I could.

Ghost (and everyone else) I dunno about the site you linked, they are probably ok, but do not under any circumstances buy from factorychryslerparts.com. They scammed me and a bunch of other people and I had to sic my bank on them to get my money back when they ceased communications, refused to answer the phone/email, and never shipped my parts for several months.

In my last email and phone message to them I told them I'd be dirtying their name every time the subject came up, anywhere, until they made it right... they never made it right, so I shall continue to crap on their reputation.

Thanks for that info. I had my local dealer get it. IF the jeep is to go to URE next weekend I have to have that window in Monday.

Weekend started with me getting hired on full time where I work now. 401k, full benefits, paid vacation days, and other little stuff. Not what or where I wanted to get on full time, but beats part time and I'm getting a raise too. Should be finished with school this fall and I'll have several more opportunities then. I've got it better than a lot of other 19 year olds!

Unfortunately I can't, my flares were gone for at least a year before I had the Jeep, possibly longer. I'll probably borrow a friend's flares and mark it with a sharpie
