Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Moved the donor xj into the garage and pulled the engine, transmission, tcase, doors and hatch.Rolled it back outside and pulled the the axles.

Wait, that's the donor? What's wrong with that unibody and what are you going to do with it when you're done with it?

Yeah, well, considering we get snow once every 4 years I'll admit to being a rookie. At least I knew how to handle the situation and steered into it and corrected before I went shooting off the left side of the road. Fortunately, there was no oncoming traffic. If there had been it would have been a bad day.

I was only in the throttle enough to maintain speed and the next thing I know I'm looking straight out into a field. lol

Damn! I have driven to work on solid sheets of ice for most of the winter(backroads, main roads are fine) its been slick in the mornings at 5am but no close calls yet. The Commander is sure footed on the ice, much better than the XJ's. My coworker totaled his car this morning. He paid it off last week LOL!

XJ didn't miss a beat in the snow and ice in GA. Commander did well too.

Didn't have to work or go to school today because of the snowpocalypse, so I did my brown dogs (now have a vibration) and I finished most of the welding on the rear bumper.

You will notice the vibration for a while. The rubber needs to break in.

I pulled a beamer up University City Blvd last night, I was amazed at how stupid people down here act in the snow, even though I'm from here. If you don't have 4wd, it's probably smart not to stop when you're going uphill and the road is a solid sheet of ice. Other than that I had a blast, there were plenty of parking lots that were slick, my buddy was like Ken Block drifting through Ikea's parking lot in his WJ

My bimmer is cozy under the car cover in the driveway, why drive my rear wheel drive convertible in winter weather when I have a jeep sitting beside it! :D

All this craze about snow cracks me up... I have needed 4lo almost every day for the last month just to get up my driveway. Snow/ice and MJ don't get along well in 2wd, and no I will not go buy sandbags to put in the bed. It's not the road conditions that are the problem, it's the people from the rest of the state visiting that cause issues.

Passing people with the rear end out has become a regular thing getting on the highway after the backroad, because they have given me plenty of time creeping down the road to decide it's better to get way in front of them.

The only time I needed 4x4 was getting up the driveway late Tuesday night, once it turned to ice. Could have got a running start but saw that ending with me crashing into the Focus parked inside. Did everything else in 2wd just fine....apart from the locker trying to send me off the road.

Same here, only time I needed 4x4 was getting out of U-Ville. My buddy who lives there had to get pulled out of there in his XJ because he didn't have his front driveshaft in. I also needed it pulling that BMW up University City. Everything else was 2x4 unless I just wanted too use 4x4
