Weekend is over...what did you get done?

I have it installed.I had to remove the bracket that is on the side.Smple to do just drill out the rivets with a 3/16" drill bit which are on the top plate.2 3/16" size rivets for the 2 90* brackets in the location facing up and bolted that to the header panel,drill holes of course.The one that I installed the bottom bracket stuck out then bent down 90 * I bent it to be flush with the cooler and cut off the rest to just above the header panel where the bottom portion of the grill sits.The one in the pic on EBAY looks like it may be flush all ready on the bottom.I will get some pics later today.Of course I did not pay that price.$20 from my local pull a part.I just need to make a small flat straight bracket for the bottom,have small rubber hose portions for now to keep it from rubbing the hoses.It sits very close to the grill so careful positioning is required but not hard to figure out.

Awesome, I would be interested in seeing how you have it mounted. There are tons of these explorers at the PAP in Huntsville and I can do this in an afternoon. Good insurance for my trans.

If you use a used transmission cooler, make sure to flush it out well with compressed air, solvent, and more compressed air. You don't want to feed your transmission a big fat wad of clutch friction debris out of the blown up transmission that happened to have sent the donor to the scrapyard.

Acetone, brakleen, gasoline, or a number of other thin solvents should work fine.

Yep used Acetone and also let it sit in there while I moved it around,hold one end closed as I did so it won't come out switching closed ends.

Yeah, it should go without saying to most people, I just figured I should mention it because I'd hate to be the poor bastard who forgot and roached their transmission as a result. That would suck.

This cooler is about 1" thick and is mounted to the passenger's side next to the support in the middle of the header panel.Some dremeling was needed for hose clearance to not rub on the header panel itself.Also use shorter screws where the grill screws go in at that point.I went to Lowes and got some new stainless steel screws for all of them 3/4" long...2 being 1/2" long for the cooler area.#10 oval stainless screws.

for the record....its much easier to swap speedometers than to adjust mileage in a new cluster

Moved the donor xj into the garage and pulled the engine, transmission, tcase, doors and hatch.Rolled it back outside and pulled the the axles.

That's good info. My trip meter doesn't work in the cluster I swapped and I didn't know how to fix it. Now I'll just get the old cluster out and swap the speedo.

Got the new fenders trimmed and bolted on, late model headlight harness spliced into early model pigtail and the header panel bolted on.

Also, installed cruise on my 99 DD Jeep. Sure is nice.

Now I just have to build another front bumper and swap the transmission.

That's fine. The old stuff was falling apart. I just swapped it because I had it laying around and wanted something different. I'm anxious to give it some character.

Fixed the wiring on my electric fan switch, sold a lot of car parts, went to sleep, went to the workday at URE, where UNCC Off Road adopted Wolfden trail. Bought a new CB, installed said CB, tuned said CB. Took the back half off my buddy's XJ exhaust, because why not? More productive than normal.
