Weekend is over...what did you get done?

She's a friend.

GATR is going the week before. 18-20 of October. Then the Flog in November. Once someone paypals me the money they owe me from JF, I will be a supporting member here.

Here's what I got done over the weekend :D

In the midst of a teardown, rebuild coming soon.

Oh boy! Wait...is that a lift I see in the corner of the picture?

Converted my Jeep from the mechanical fan to dual OEM electric fans and so far so good! Couldn't find a 10 blade fan but Stump had an 8 blade that he sold to me so use. I did a lot of trimming so it would fit between the radiator and the pulley without having to lop off the original fan pulley. Its a tight fit but clears plenty! I used a volvo cooling fan relay pack for a two speed fan, BMW two stage cooling switch in a custom hose adapter I built to fit in the upper radiator hose, a 70 amp power supply relay triggered by the fuel pump power wire, and finally a taurus in-line resistor to create a low speed first speed setting and leave full power for the second high speed! The system is completely stand alone and autonomous and works like a charm! Probably would be better with the 10 blade fan but this works for now. BMW makes two different two stage switches with two different sets of temps. I went for the one with the higher set temps and it kicks on at exactly 210 but I think I want it to kick in sooner so I am thinking of swapping to the lower temp switch. But like I said for now it works!!!

I miss my Waggy... But, if I had it to do over again, it would have gotten a small block Chevy instead off wasting gobs of money rebuilding the AMC V8 and STILL having oiling problems. The guy that did it was a total hack, and if he had any teeth, I might have knocked them out for screwing me over...

Scraped the 98, made $236, returned the trailer, grandpa said he would probably buy one, win, clean the garage, pull 29 spline 8.25 from said 98, got the welder hooked up, welded, and other various things.

Looks like every other 8.25 carrier? Those are ginding marks from when the carrier was cast at the foundry. Its normal

Feels like its just deeply scratched and wasn't like the one under the 94. Pinion is really hard to turn and the axle shaft has been rubbing the cross pin, I peeled off a slice of metal from the shaft

How does the shaft hit the cross pin like that? You can see where it's discolored. And why would the pinion be so hard to turn? The shafts are good and all the spiders and side gears look fine. Pinion and ring gear are a pain.

Get up, hunt, go to work, hunt, sleep. Repeat as necessary until there is meat in the freezer.

I'm very jealous of the guys that have food plots and feeders and cameras. I also didn't get on this property until Friday so I'm learning the land and the deer as I go.

How are the axle bearings? The discolor looks like a film built up on the cross shaft. The yoke has probably been removed and someone over tightened the pinion nut putting too much pre load on the pinion.

It did have a new axle u joint, well a newer ruined one with new straps and rounded heads...

Bearings seem a little loose, haven't taken it apart yet. The scratches look deeper than casting marks.
