Weekend is over...what did you get done?

so sat i was finishing my coffee and got a phone call from my wife. she had been on her way to work and in a heavy down pour was doing 55mph+ around some curves and lost it in my 04 suburban. she went off the road in to a ditch .

she was fine. a bit shaken up, and had some tempered glass in her hair, but safe.

i was in the big jeep and used it to drag the burb from its muddy wet stopping point.

no action shots but the after shots of burb....

Yikes! Glad to hear she's alright. Looks like it was a pretty eventful ride!

Grilled out with some friends Friday night after work. Got a bunch of errands done Saturday morning, did yard work and changed the oil in the DD Saturday afternoon, then grilled out again and went out for a friends bachelor party Saturday night. Went down to Glenn's this morning and helped him change out the leaking heater core in the 98 he bought for the boys a couple months ago. Advised him to change the evaporator while he was in there, and he quickly saw why lol. Thankfully he and little Glenn got it torn apart yesterday, so all I had to do was pull vacuum so the evap could be disconnected, change parts, and re-assemble. Even with a trip to the parts house and a break for lunch, we had it back together and blowing ice cold air in about 4 hours. Just in time for summertime storms to roll in and put a stop to working for the day.

Different Bald Mountain. This is located in Stuarts Draft/Sherando Lake right off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Also known as Big Levels, Cold Springs Trail.

Finally decided to work on the heep again to get it running properly. Fixed the electrical issue temporarily. Pulled both axles out of it today and began disassembling the front for new balljoints, etc.

Went to the lake, got burnt, took some pictures, went home and sat on my butt in the rain for the rest of the weekend.

Cool! When I built the cage in my old CJ I tied part of it into the windshield frame, and regretted it later on. Those were the days of young and dumber, though.
Somebody once said that you don't get to be old and wise without first being young and stupid. :) I believe it
