Weekend is over...what did you get done?

I wanted to fill the bucket up with water before we went up...but I was strongly advised against that

Winch is right side up (they offer all parts for the winch, including a brake rebuild kit, and lower seal kit)

Motor is clocked correctly. Sorry Ed!

I miss my 8274.

Here is something you don't see everyday, a WARN Belleview, the predecessor to the 8274.

I picked it up off CL for $50, fixed it up and traded it for a WARN XD9000i

let us know how you like that prothane stuff...i need cheap progressive bumpage for her rig, and im not ready to eat a set of air bumps yet

Ask Ironman Andy about them.... if they are the same ones he ran he can tell you about them.

Here's some 'before' pictures of the new prothanes. We'll see how they hold up. Since I'm dragging about 1000lbs of cargo between the jeep and the trailer that's just about ride height in the rear for the trip. Empty there's about three inches of uptravel before hitting the bump. Front uptravel doesn't look like it changed much with the load.

i was going to guess that...i bet it sounded beautiful

no clear coat....but the pinion did a good job of polishing the broken spot in the ring on the 30 minute drive home at 65mph
yikes... that could have ended poorly!

Finally got out of the office a bit and got to go play on the products we make at work....

These are each rated for 115kV, 1200A.
I could swear those are contactors of some sort but I can't quite figure out how the contacts move. Do they rotate? Or swing up and down?

3 phase switch. We make them for power poles like in that picture, substations...and anything else a utility company might need a switch for.

In this case, the copper blades swing open horizontally. This happens to be a 3 way switch as well.

When you get into sub-stations, you get into ones that open vertically. Like these, from a job I was on a couple weeks ago:

Just finished my first brake job. Always was a little nervous to do brakes, since, well, if you screw up you could die. But it was pretty painless and I went and did a lot of hard stops on the mean streets of Brentwood and some random subdivisions.

Make sure you bed the brakes in properly so they don't glaze up, you'll be glad you did.

Strangely enough, brake hardlines were the second thing I did on my XJ. First was a radiator, third was a bunch of bodywork on the right front corner due to the old rusty brake lines... would have preferred to do them BEFORE they popped.

Bedding the brakes is a seriously overrated practice on a street car. More people screw it up than get it right. You're better off just driving the car.

I went out with my 3 brother in-laws and 2 of their friends to play Soccer last night.

We played on half the field and had no goalie so we had to score in the sides of the goal instead of the back.

That's was the first time I've played Soccer in 8 years.

I had a blast but geez. I can barely walk. I pulled a muscle and I'm still convinced my toe is broke. lol Can't wait until next week. Maybe I can finally get in a shape other than round.

Anyhow. That's that I did.

Yea I did that all this past summer. They have an adult group here that does pick up games twice a week durring the summer. First couple times I died! We will some times pull the kids goals and put them into the big goal. That is a challange really makes you aim your shot. We have also dont the side net to score too. Good time!
