Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Lol. I also made it a point to replace the hardware while I was in there. Didn't like the look of 10+ year old rusty bolts. Nor did I want to take the chance of one of them snapping on installation.

I've never had a problem with any of the bolts, but I did snap one of the studs on my most recent motor swap - not the easy to get to one, either, and only after putting the engine in the jeep and getting it bolted to the transmission. From the look of the break it'd been hanging on by approx 1/8 the cross section of the stud for years, the rest of the break was soaked in oil.

I was so pissed I just kept installing everything like it never happened, tightened the shit out of the other bolt that holds the #6 runner down, and ran it. No problems yet. Long as it gets me an inspection sticker, I could care less if it leaks a bit, I barely ever drive that turd since it's basically a backup in case the MJ is broken for a while.

I generously apply anit-seize to any bolt I ever install. The bolts I pulled out look great. The studs look good to go as well.

A flex socket and long extension makes the manifold job much easier.

Yep. That's what I used. 14mm socket on a swivel and a 12" extension on my 3/8" drive ratchet. Worked like a charm.

I was debating going ahead and swapping the valve cover gasket while I have it apart but I can do that once I put all this stuff back together.

THEN, next weekend I get to pull the head off of my 93. Hooray!

Drove to Myrttle Beach tonight to see two friends I went to HS with that were in town from Nashville..... Have not seen either of them in 20+ years! I love that FB has allowed me to make these kinds of connections!

6 day work week ended yesterday at Noon, went and saw Marcy Playground/Lit/Gin Blossoms/Sugar Ray/Everclear with Tim and other friends last night, currently making plans for the Toby Keith/Brantley Gilbert concert tonight. I love summer.

Replaced my skyjacker shocks with bilstein. Flushed my transmission fluid. Discovered it was probably last changed, never. It was black. Also discovered that my drivers side tie rod end is stripped and it's a miracle the Jeep steers at all!

Tested the repairs I did to the 1997 HVAC box I am putting into my MJ's 1997+ XJ conversion. Cut out the adapter plate for the box around the HVAC lines. Also cut out a cover for the holes from the clutch pedal and master cylinder. Made the video below of testing the HVAC controls. Hooked it into the LJ for the test. :D

I mowed the yard for the first time in who knows when....

Loaded up some parts for Mark. Other than that, I hurt so bad I can't do much on the Jeep right now.

Hope the hurt stops soon.

Hope the hurt stops soon.

New medicine isn't doing too good yet. Maybe that will change. Imagine every joint in you body hurting to where it is better to not move.

Sucks to be me.

Wasn't a bad concert at all. Once again, Everclear needed some work...but they sounded better than at Speed Street last year.

Didn't roll in till 11:30 after helping my buddy move all day yesterday. Could use about 2 solid days of sleep right now...
