It's nice to see a mud rig that ISN'T lifted to the sky for once!

I would have put some tape over those gears before welding the spiders, btw... unless I am blind and you put nostick spray/dip on em, you are gonna have some lifespan problems from all the weld spatter on the gear teeth.

its just a toy, we ought the jeep for $200 and then slapped on some extra tires we had around the shop, might not last long but its only gonna be drivin on the trails, and trailored everywhere else, no big deal. Mud will kill it first lol HAHA

took my steering box off, apart, and started putting it back together and realized they gave me wrong rebuild kit! Oh well Durango steering box it is... Also tested my cps and saw .2V AC. Trying to find the part numbers from NAPA now for the steering and sensor.

Pulling gear boxes and reinstalling them by your self sucks!

I should know, I put my tapped gear box back in the Jeep today. I got the ram mounted with some bubble gum welds and a ran all the lines. In the process of trying to pull the return hose off of the PS pump resevoir I snapped the nipple off. So, tomorrow I'll warranty out the pump and get it put on and bleed the system. I'm excited to not have to strain to turn the steering wheel.

The voltage you will see is heavily dependent on the meter you use since non true rms meters will show you a fraction of the peak voltage (they assume vrms = vpeak/sqrt(2) since that is true for a sine wave) while a true rms meter will calculate the actual RMS value of the signal it gets. Assuming you have a RENIX rig?

I went wheelin in the stock 98 with 2 cyls dead, and treated that junkpile how it treats me. It still hasn't blown the rest of the way... you can't kill a 4.0 without drowning it I guess.

Went up to visit the parents today and discovered that the radiator in mom's Jeep is leaking. Looks like i'll be going back up there next week to put a new radiator in it.

Damn Jeeps...

Hey david.....where do you get your hid's from? I'm lookimg at putting them in everything

i run these lenses in my blue jeep and maggies 2 door

and this HID kit in both jeeps. (need the one with the integrated relay harness for the xjs/tjs)
specs on my HIDs, H4 bulbs, 6000k color with 55watt ballasts.

this first link you place the order then you tell them what you want.

you need the BI xenon kits (meaning they have high/low) for the xjs and tjs

for the chevy trucks like yours the bulbs are 9006 i believe. the dmax has HID highs, lows and fogs.

you can get a breakdown of exactly what type of bulbs you need on wherever here

basically any ebay vendor sells them at a good price. most are from Beijing

RENIX yeah. As far as the meter goes, it cost me $20 at radio-shack. I tried it several times and they all shot to .2 and nothing else. So you are saying the meter reads the peak and not the actual or constant voltage? Does this affect the test that I have read on how to diagnose the cps?

I have refreshed the c101 and ground and didn't improve "too" much, but while I was looking at the c-101 I realized it had the TSB wire harness upgrade and ran the c101 straight into the renix box. This was just the progressive list to getting the xj to start up reliably.

Pulled my winch off just to find out the SS bolts that came with it were stripped and bent. Changed them out for grade 8 blots and thread locked them. Now we are ready for anything.

That's the nerdiest shit I've ever heard.

Don't forget to refresh your grounds.

Yeah all of our cars and Jeeps have them.

drove the wonderful 6.5 hour trip back to Cola this weekend. Party'ed like an An I MaL
Put the seats in the xj.. just put not bolted down.. wasn't motivated to work on the jeeps in the cold.
then drove back to Al last night and experienced Tornado sirens at home as the humid weather at 65 degrees brought tornados and hurricane winds and rain. Boy i just love my stay in AL these days!
