Weekend is over...what did you get done?

worked and class and took two new pic.s of the jeep

Intalled 4 degree shims to improve rear driveshaft angle. Didn't realize the center pin would not be long enough to reach the hole in the axle mount THROUGH the shim... took them out and flipped them over for more depth. Took a little longer than expected, a little more humid than desired, but I think it's done.
Also installed rear EBC brakes on the Vibe GT to match the fronts. Now time to "season" the rotors. Who knew you needed to season new rotors?:viking:

Me and the wife went to the PAP and pulled a HP D30 from a '95 that i'm gonna spruce up and put in her '00.

Get a spare set. You most likely bent the pin with the shims and it will eventually break.

I hope note, I did radius the hole in the shim to fit the nut through. What causes it to bend?

Apparently a welded diff and wheelin. But who does that anymore!! I'm sure there are a few things that could cause it, but that seems to be what caused mine to break.

Put a new idler pully, serpintine belt, and spark plugs in my wifes WJ. I sure dig the extra room in the engine compartment of an '04 WJ as compared to my '01 XJ.

Also put my new raffle prize battery in the XJ.

Ok so its been a while since I've been on but this weekend I pretty much rebuilt my AX5. I threw itt and the transfer case in the 91 by my self (serious pain in my stuff). Found out that the previous owner didn't care to keep track of his parts and also that no one around here stocks older jeep stuff. Even advance and Autozone so I had to go to home depot to get some of the bolts and nuts I nedded and ill be going again today. I'm missing 2 of the crossmember bolts and one of the long skinny bolts at the top of the bell housing. Also I fixed the wobbly steering column and key release and removed the annoying key buzzer while I was down there. A fuel tank cleaning and a tune up and this one should be ready to start. Ill post pics when I can.

The shim I had made the bolt head sit at an angle. When I tightened it down it bent right at the shim. Never found it till it broke coming down the mountain in Harlan.

cleaned up the dd xj and took some poser shots.

Not really the weekend but today I finished putting in my new transmission. My jeep finally has 4wd again and a 242 Tcase.

i think i have all the stuff to fix my four link correctly; a stick of 1.5" x 0.25 DOM, 4 new heims, four new flex joints, rear frame plates from HD Offroad, and a 1/2" x 4" bar for trussing the 9". going to have to make some new tabs for the 9" too. my neighbor needs to use my lift this weekend and i gotta mow anyhow. hopefully get started early next week. pretty sure i am going to do something with the rear coils while i am at it; maybe coilovers? havent decided yet. looking forward to fixing it right.

That thing was sick before Tyler got ahold of it, can't wait to see this.

Started on the RMS today, looks like I'll be working on it tomorrow too. Also have valve cover gasket, oil filter adapter o-rings and new O2 sensors to go in.

here is the POS rear link end I broke at the crawl; no wonder!! How embarrassing

Got the '95 HP D30 cleaned up, painted, and new ball joints pressed in. Hopefully start pulling the old LP D30 tonight for replacing.

Question: I have the RC lower control arms off an old lift that I'm not using so what do you think of replacing the stock ones with these? They have a bend in them for lifted purposes so do you think that would cause any issues? The Jeep has a 1" spacer up front also. We do take it on fire roads and the like but no serious wheeling in it. I just like them for the beef over stock. Thoughts?
