Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Due to my children now being the keepers of my sparetime I managed to get one unit bearing installed on the axle for old blue and I got the OMG currie steering installed. Some very beefy hardware. When the other bearing comes in ill be installing it and moving on to installing the axle back in the Jeep.

That's a VERY productive weekend if there were children involved...:sunshine:

Did you put in a locker?:viking:

Nope, i need to regear the front and swap in my locked 8.8, just didn't have enough traction to get any farther with 3 wheels on the ground.

didnt really do much, went and picked up T-fradys new jeep. maybe he'll chime in and post up some pics. nice having a tow rig. lol

Actual Four Wheel Drive is amazing! That makes me want to go wheeling! I haven't been in months!

I was wanting you to hang a left and drive straight up that wall to your drivers side the whole way.

I was trying to down toward the bottom but i couldn't get it to climb the wall. A couple guys that were open/open made it up but i couldn't make it any further. I have been up it before when i had a BB and 31's but it also hadn't rained for 3 months that time.

Went to Windrock and had a blast!!! Weather was perfect and the wheeling was awesome. I had a few issues with the Jeep that I have to work out but it did great!!

you MIGHT need limit straps! :D

shoulda stopped in i have some limit straps in my toolbox i couldve fixed you up with.... like the tires?

I was thinking the same thing!!!! You got to admit though, that's some sexy flexy!!!!!!!!!!!!

A cut up ratchet strap will work too. Thanks Matt!!!!

I like the tires in the rocks, the mud...not so much.

It did really good in the new trail off 16 though.

Hmmm... limit straps do just that... limit you. Get some longer springs and turn up the ACOS some! Then you can keep all that flex with out fear of the spring popping out.

x2 or get some steel cable and attach the coils to the unibody. Leave it loose enough to let the coil lower but nto loose enough to fall out.

Yep. Took some measurements last night and gonna call around today and see what I can find as far as new coils go. After I get those, then I'll see what I need to do for straps.

Any suggestions on who's coils to run?

They will have to be awefully long coils to keep them seated. There was 3" of space between the top of the coil and the rubber bump on the ACOS. It will take a tall coil since it flexes so much.

Agreed. If I spin the ACOS up about 1.5 inches then get a taller, softer spring rate coil, that might work but I think I will still need to use limit straps. I don't want the shock to be the limiting factor and since we see what happens when they are, I will need some straps.

I measured 17" from axle coil bucket to the ACOS for the ride height. If I get another 1.5 inches from spinning up the ACOS, that gives me an 18.5" coil length at ride height. If I have 4" on the ACOS before the spring hits the rubber bump stop, that's a total of 22.5" not counting the distance the coil will un-compress when flexing..........

All of a sudden, this got complicated!!!:looney:

got the new brake lines in. also got the leaf springs in. took two weeks of pb blaster and two days of cutting, hammering, and cranking. rides like a dream. oh yeah, removed the rear sway bar while i was back there. THANKS SHORTY!!

.... and i finally paid for a membership. whoot for red names!!!
