Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Changed out the rear diff oil and moved my rear shackles back a hole so it will stop bottoming out. I have Brians relocation brakets.

Put a hitch on the Jeep even though I didn't want to. It now seems that since my Jeep is 10' tall, my 10" drop ball mount is not low enough for my trailer to mount up. So, instead of trying to find a 14" or 16" drop ball mount, I put a hitch on it.

used truck bedliner to coat the bottom side of the Jeep. From the body line right below the door handles down. :D

Went to Windrock and had a great time. Perfect weather couldn't be beat.

Did part of 15, 22 and 3 to the first bypass. First time I've run all but 22 in my own XJ.

I was the small guy in the group w/32" tires. She did good though.

This past week was my annual fishing trip to Lake Phelps, NC. Caught a lot of fish, got some good sun, laughed a lot, ate great food, built big fires, slept well in the tent. It was one well needed vacation. Also proved my concept baitcasting rod was worth the gamble/work. Haven't gotten the fish photos yet, but here is one of an extensive lure retrieval...

Also picked up some new wheels for the DD. They were only available as an option on the 96 GSR and LS special edition Integras. At 15.7lbs, they are the lightest OEM wheels Honda made. Put some new tires on today at work... Oh man are the twisties fun.

Got a last minute invite to come up to my buddy's lake house yesterday morning. Spent most of the day yesterday cruising around on the water, then smoking some of the best BBQ i've had in my life back at the house, and finally indulging in a pretty sweet lake party at one of his friend's million dollar lake house.

Can't complain one bit!

Now that lacrosse season is over I had some time to play.

I took the family fishing Saturday afternoon. we caught 40 or so fish in 2 hours. I caught a lunker.

Then on Sunday i took my 17 year old out to a easy trail for his first off-roading experience in his XJ.

We crossed the AT at Bobblets Gap and then went under the Blue Ridge Parkway as we made our way towards 460/Mountvale VA

We had a great weekend!

Friday I took the day off. I am still waiting on a couple of parts to finish getting Brents LS2 XJ finished up, so I thought it would be a good time to go have a little fun. Shaggy Bob bought himself a new mustang last week; an 04 GT, so we decided to go run the Cherohala Skyway, and then hit up Deals Gap. WOW! We had fun. We both had new tires, and I had gotten a new performance oriented alignment on the Cobra, so it handled like the tires were in a track, absolutely amazing. I was pulling enough G's to lift tires in the corners on Deals Gap, which in turn would freak out the ABS and make it go off... kinda annoying actually since you have to turn off the car to re-set it. All in all, an excellent way to have fun in the car. The Skyway is a much much faster road, I was breaking 100 MPH on a regular basis, and the brakes were getting worked so hard that I boiled the fluid in the calipers. Deals Gap is slower, holding a minimum of 45 MPH though the whole thing is really good in a car, I did 99% of it in 2nd gear. After our little speed party, we headed on up to Doug's place to check out Sam's jeep, then headed home. Saturday and Sunday were spent cleaning up the Ranger and getting it ready to be sold. :bawl: Im gonna miss that truck, Ive got a lot of good memories in it, and it got me through a very difficult time in my life. But, its on to bigger things now, more responsibility, and I needed a bigger truck that can keep up with what I ask it to do, so the Ranger needs a new home.

Due to my children now being the keepers of my sparetime I managed to get one unit bearing installed on the axle for old blue and I got the OMG currie steering installed. Some very beefy hardware. When the other bearing comes in ill be installing it and moving on to installing the axle back in the Jeep.
