Friday I took the day off. I am still waiting on a couple of parts to finish getting Brents LS2 XJ finished up, so I thought it would be a good time to go have a little fun. Shaggy Bob bought himself a new mustang last week; an 04 GT, so we decided to go run the Cherohala Skyway, and then hit up Deals Gap. WOW! We had fun. We both had new tires, and I had gotten a new performance oriented alignment on the Cobra, so it handled like the tires were in a track, absolutely amazing. I was pulling enough G's to lift tires in the corners on Deals Gap, which in turn would freak out the ABS and make it go off... kinda annoying actually since you have to turn off the car to re-set it. All in all, an excellent way to have fun in the car. The Skyway is a much much faster road, I was breaking 100 MPH on a regular basis, and the brakes were getting worked so hard that I boiled the fluid in the calipers. Deals Gap is slower, holding a minimum of 45 MPH though the whole thing is really good in a car, I did 99% of it in 2nd gear. After our little speed party, we headed on up to Doug's place to check out Sam's jeep, then headed home. Saturday and Sunday were spent cleaning up the Ranger and getting it ready to be sold. :bawl: Im gonna miss that truck, Ive got a lot of good memories in it, and it got me through a very difficult time in my life. But, its on to bigger things now, more responsibility, and I needed a bigger truck that can keep up with what I ask it to do, so the Ranger needs a new home.
