Got more work done to Betty today. I hope to have it looking like a jeep again tomorrow!
cleaned up the ol' wagon, and drove her around town a bit, and went and played a bit on the trails behind my house.
also got a 79 kawasaki kz1000 that i'm gonna try to make into a cafe project as time and money allow. it seems to be a pretty solid ride, so i rode it to memphis and back over the labor day weekend, with no problems! it's in pretty good shape for the shape it's in, but there are still a few small things i need to do to get it tippy-top, and from there i'm gonna try to make it a bit custom, while still keeping the old charm of an antique bike. i've already raced a couple of newer crotch rockets, and it is comparable in speed, and i can still hang with my buddies in the twisties, despite 30 years of technology on their side![]()

If you ever get rid of her, let me know. I was wanting to build another for a while now. The Top Fuel bike we ran was based on the old KZ motor.

^^If you haven't found them yet.
I highly recommend an electronic ignition upgrade if it hasn't been done already-- 10 times quicker starts and MUCH smoother idle during warm-up.
Keep the clutch and throttle cables lubed (along with regular maintenance) and you'll get years of service from her-- more reliable than any bike I've seen.
If you decide to build her up, these guys will become some of your best friends:

I know I've posted pics of the ol' Kawi in here somewhere-- '79 (good year!) KZ650SR
throw a few of yours up when you get time
I like it!
You seriously need bigger tires and paint the wheels any color other than white though!!! haha.
Sobered up and turned red. Apparently in my buzz last night I decided it was time to renew. lol![]()
