Weekend is over...what did you get done?

If I have to pull the engine for any reason I won't be driving it anywhere :o it will be incapable of moving under its own power.

I think I will need to get my WJ brakes and 8.8 with discs installed before I attempt towing 20klbs with the XJ :roflmao:

That, and a 231-231-231 tripler with an Atlas behind it or something.

Nope. I don't have 78 gallons of Everclear and if I did, would be doing something else with it

Also, alcohol has an octane rating of 120+... that is far far too high for this engine. I don't have an engine hoist large enough to reach the middle of the grille nevermind the top of the engine, nor strong enough to lift this engine, so I am trying to not break it for as long as possible.

Lennie uses a tow truck with a boom on it to pull heads and motors on dump trucks and big trucks.

LOL! Yea funy. I was thinking about puting a klune v in front of my 203/205 the other day then I woke up and realised it would make tj DS look long!

Yeah, at that point I think you'd end up with a chain driven rearend :gag:

Interesting trick, maybe I should buy a tow truck too... crap. Cancel that thought.

I'll let the picture speak for itself but following the old phrase from Britney Spears "Oooppps I did it again"

I finally got around to making my rear doors removable last night...

Changed the diff fluid and gasket on the 8.8
Changed the motor oil.
and I did something else too but I was so tired I don't really remember what it was. ..

Talked trailratethis into picking up the HF 10,000lb winch for me while I'm deployed to Iraq. Eric...YOU ARE MY HERO! Please take good care of my XJ while I'm gone. I know she'll be in good hands. I'm looking forward to the SYE, gears, and tube doors too. ;)

drove my waggy 8 hours to savannah, Ga. used $160 worth of gas:( at least she made it!
EDIT: i hope she makes it back. as soon as i get a job, i'm probably going to start saving for a cummins diesel swap.

Started breaking down the lawnmower engine due to a broken connecting rod.

Now I gotta find new parts. I've thought about 'souping' it up some, but that's just extra work and extra $.

Oh crap...raise your hand if you remember what happened to the last jeep he cut up....

Just messing with you dave, looking forward to the rest of the build.
wait a minute, what happened to the last jeep YOU cut up ?

I got a lot of traveling in this weekend. Went to GoSlowGetStuck's house 2 hours away from mine, went another hour and a half to northern IN to pick up my new 8.8, drove back loaded up his truck and put his rig on the trailer and drive 5 hours to Hannibal, Mo. Got some wheeling in and a LOT of sweating. Man has it been a scorcher! Getting ready to load up and head home soon.
