Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Finished the exhaust job on the mj and threw some brass battery terminals on the massivemobile since I busted one in half last night while "theftproofing" it... gotta install a real lockout setup one of these days.

Bought enough gear lube to sink a ship since I have 3 diffs to change and the covers are approx 16" across

A 2.5 or 5 ton one? The 2.5s are more commonly used... I have 5s due to it being an M54 instead of an M35. This is going to be expensive.

Replaced the liner in the swimming pool. Will be redoing plumbing to the pump tonight.....

Pools are right up there with XJ's and boats...... Just a big freakin hole you throw money into.....

Installed an adjustable fan controller, phase 1 of the mechanical fan delete. Also got my rail shifted mounted and most of the wiring done.

Rail shifter complete as of last night. Nice to have control of the 1-2 shifts:scottm:

Drove to Atlanta Friday morning. Drove back to Aiken, SC friday night. Spent weekend in AIken riding the 3 wheeler and shooting and fishing with the boys. Drove to Atlanta Monday morning for a 10 am appt. Arrived at 9:30 to find it was not at 10 but 1. Got hotel room, went to appointment at 1. Took the boys swiming tha evening. Went to second appointment on Tuesday. Hauled ass back to Hartsville,SC Tuesday evening ariving home at 1:30. AT work by 8:30 today. Man I'm tired. :(

Yanked the old gas tank out of subieracer05's 91 MJ last night... MAN that thing was rusty!

That hole is about 3-4" wide for reference... and is the result of a single halfhearted stomp on the tank after removing it and draining it. You guys are so lucky to not have rust problems. The bottom of the tank was on the edge of disaster, by the time we dragged it out from under the heep it was leaking from several pinholes on the bottom as well as the holes on the side.

Discovered that my welding/metalworking toolbox grew legs and walked off, so we didn't get the new tank in (tank strap bolts were just as rusty and couldn't get the nuts off without my angle grinder + wire wheel) but that'll happen either tomorrow night or tonight.

Fiona and I knocked this bit of work out the last two nights to surprise our boys. They've been gone a week with the in-laws and have no idea.

Shrek, that looks amazing! You have some lucky boys.

I am picking up a free pool table today. I already have plans to recover it in a red felt to match the Jeep and airbrushing the Jeep and Cherokee logos with a printing ink on the felt.

Just got finished replacing the second ignition coil on the Teal Bitch in 5 months. At least this time it was only about 500 feet from my house when it decided to crap out.... instead of on the side of the interstate in the middle-of-nowhere, GA like last time.

Soo... whats the best brand coil to go with?? I am thinking about giving the dealership (it pains me to say it...) a call to see how much an OEM one is. The original lasted 14 years, thats WAY better than 5 months.

Went to the Union Hall and no jobs were available so....I started building my new rear winch bumper! Woohoo...

Thats it for my middle of the week weekend update.

Did yours backfire like hell when the coil went out? lol I know mine did.

Not too bad, it just kinda sputtered, and started running like there was a midget (little person?) under the hood randomly pulling off spark plug wires... then - nothing.

Squirrel aids, I say.

Mine sounded like someone stuck a stick of dynamite in my tail pipe. I was crusin along about 60mph when..... BOOOOOM. I thought I'd slung a rod thru the side of the house I was passing. Then all it would do was turn the engine. No fire. Replaced the coil with a cheapo from O'reilly's and haven't had a problem since. That was 2 years ago.

Master Pro part.

Yeah, mine was not that exciting, lol. Just ran like crap till it shut off, then would not restart. Both times my coils still worked, but both were cracked and arcing onto the engine block.

I went to Oreilly's today to get the replacement part, and looked at the Master Pro coil. It looked very 'cheap' to me, so I went with the lifetime warranty part made by BWD.

The messed up part is when I got home I realized that I originally replaced the OEM part with a BWD unit from Advanced Auto, the same part I got from Oreilly's, and the same part that broke in 5 months. I should have tried the Master Pro. So, my spares kit is soon to include another - better - coil for when this one bites the dust. I am looking at a couple of them on Summitracing.com. but they are spendy.

My Heep has left me dead on the side of the road twice, both times because of the coil.

You shouldn't have any problems with the BWD... I always use their parts over the house brand stuff (used to work for Oreillys so I always buy from them). I have seen brand new parts come off the self and be bad, not just BWD stuff either, it happens with every manufacturer from time to time. You may have just got a dud.
