Weekend is over...what did you get done?

x2 to what Kastein said. :D

I found out this morning that you get some pretty crazy looks when you suddenly develop DW on the way to work.

yep... gets rid of tailgaters right quick!

"oh sh**, I think the car in front of me is gonna fall apart and roll!"

Just bought the last piece (well, aside from horns, no big deal) to the puzzle that is my 98... at least to make it legal. electric fan, washer fluid bottle, and horns going in tomorrow or Saturday, depending on how busy I am.

I found out this morning that you get some pretty crazy looks when you suddenly develop DW on the way to work.

And you also tend to invent some new swear words when it comes out of nowhere..lol.

Hopefully this half day at work will go by quick...definitely ready for the relaxing weekend in store!

Well, I could tell something was seriously wrong because when I'd hit about 53, I could feel the general looseness of the front end. Then I hit a bump and all hell broke loose.

Time to check for component tightness. This only happened after installing new TREs. Tuesday, new unit bearings and axle ujoints are going in.

been there done that, had a guy slam the breaks and put his hazards on, I turned off to let the people behind around and just to make sure everything was intact, guy turned off behind me asking if Im alright and if I need emergency services called or anything. Lol

Got off work at 7, relaxing for a bit, towing my heep to a friends shop and finally getting to fix the little things that have prevented me from wheeling. I intend to spend 40-50 myself between fuel and pizza lol might buy a case of beer too if it goes into the night, but should be an afternoon fix.

I finally fixxed my NSS. That thing was driving me crazy! There was nothing to it. I got lucky and i pulled it off the shaft by hand. I also started making some bumpstops for the rear but I'm not satisfied with their direction so I may start over and do something a lil different.

My dial indicator should be in the mail today so I'll be setting up gears this weekend... if I don't have to work.

XXXXing depressing... :( My buddy who was gonna let me use his shop, help etc... suddenly called me with a bs story about how he can't today. Typical crap, should have expected it, told me the whole weekend was clear at 9 am this morning lol. Now says "can't do anything here today, and if we did it tomorrow would have to be early morning, and not 100% if we could do it then either." Like... wtf? Now we are doing it next friday morning, apparently set in stone. I need to move out of this shithole apartment, and need to get some damn tools.

got the A/C blowin cold in the Waggy again! it's soooooo nice after going without and having to take a shower everytime i drove for more than a few minutes during daylight hours. next up is fixing exhaust leaks, and installing a mechanical oil pressure gauge and my lockright.
i'll eventually repaint it and do the interior, but for now i'm going for dependable and enjoyable on and off road. decided not to lift anymore, or go with bigger tires. i can wheel it lightly, and i can handle long road trips.

Put a new track bar and a new TRE on the drag link on the 2000 XJ. After 170K it was time for some new parts, plus the DW got a little unbearable, well for the wife anyway.:looney: It was her DD.:laugh2:

Well, I met a couple young boys (17yrs old and 18 yrs old) that had intentions of lifting a 88 Suzuki Samurai. I asked them if they were going to do a SOA lift or new springs all the way around or both. They said "Whats a SOA lift? We're just going to us the car lift to raise the truck up so the suspension hangs. Then, we're going to use 2x2x.25 tubing to cut to fit between the leaf spring plate and the frame and weld it in place." (Keep in mind they weren't using terminology anywhere near correctly.)

After I got back up off the floor from laughing I did my best to explain why they shouldn't do that. Once I showed them the proper way to do a SOA lift I left. Saw them the next day with a grinder trying to cut the 2x2 out that they welded in place because it rides too rough... They now have a SOA lift. LMAO I soooo wish I would have had my camera.

:scared: holy crap, the things idiots do to cars...
