I tried that on mine once and still lost about half, i couldn't get the dang thing to catch thread as fast as I thought I could.
Awesome, this should be real interesting - especially laying under a stock height MJ.
Go in from the top, remove the air box and you should have plenty of room to reach the CTS
you know, if you got a thermostat housing from an h.o., the cts will screw right into that so it isn't in the side of the block anymore. 'swhat i've done to the last few renix 4.0's i've had..... makes it a lot easier to mess withyou can just put a plug in the hole, or leave the old cts down there!
new head on and replaced H2O pump, thermostat,water outlet, CTS, ACT, plugs, belt, both idler pulleys, and an arse-ton of rotted vacuum hoses. Cleaned IAC and gave her an oil change-- fired on the second crank and settled to a smooth idle without any problems.
