Weekend is over...what did you get done?

we bought the truck from BDR, its at our shop in Denver

Ok. High2by and myself got a chance to go thru BDR and TRD a couple years ago. Very cool places.

you know, if you got a thermostat housing from an h.o., the cts will screw right into that so it isn't in the side of the block anymore. 'swhat i've done to the last few renix 4.0's i've had..... makes it a lot easier to mess with:D you can just put a plug in the hole, or leave the old cts down there!

This is awesome. I won't even have to remove the old CTS.

new head on and replaced H2O pump, thermostat, water outlet, CTS, ACT, plugs, belt, both idler pulleys, and an arse-ton of rotted vacuum hoses. Cleaned IAC and gave her an oil change-- fired on the second crank and settled to a smooth idle without any problems.

pic-- better late than never...

Indeed! Wanna come tear my 4.0 apart and paint it for me? :D I can cover pizza and beer! lol.

Spent the morning with the folks shopping for crap for the cruise we're going on in May, then the rest of the afternoon at work which consisted of sitting in NHRA visitor traffic while trying to run deliveries to customers, dealing with walk in customers who have siezed alternators and dont understand why, and with one customer who came in at closing time because his car was "slipping". Oil cap was gone and 4 quarts of 5W30 had flung out of the motor, all over the entire left side of the engine compartment, the hood, and eventually made its way out of the grill and down the front bumper. The oil dripping from the front bumper is what "tipped him off" that there might be a problem. 95 Honda Accord 2.2L.

blue was a "best guess" that was supposed to match the Jeep-- it had been two months since I'd seen the color and thought it was much "bluer" than the "greenish" turquoise it really is. Oh well- I'm out of the Bahama Blue engine business-- it was all the paint I had and it only looked decent after I base coated everything with aluminum flake silver. WAY too much work for anything I'm in a hurry to put back together. In this case, I had two days to kill waiting on the cyl. head and just enough time for the head to dry to the touch while I cleaned the IAC and installed the idler pulleys once it got here.

well, g-dammmm-- nobody's done anything on a weekend but me?
--changed battery cables from Chryco junk to 2ga leftovers from other projects
--ran auxiliary ground cable from battery to engine head bolt to firewall
--changed anti-sway bar bushings
--replaced factory shocks (front) after only 241,000 miles (you think I can get them waranteed?)
--solved exhaust rattle with a quick modification of the hanger on the transmission mount
--reattached radiator mount and stopped the rattle in the front
--pulled wheels and inspected/lubed brakes, calipers, mounts, etc.
--replaced dash lamps and cigarette lighter

Title, tags and inspection are all that's between me and a low-cost daily driver-- tires and wipers are all that stand between me and inspection!!

Well, we didn't have as much fun as you did...
Saw a couple patients Saturday morning
Reattached old CB antenna from old XJ to new XJ
Went to Barber Motorsports track to watch a buddy race his full race 88 M3
w/eurospec 3.2 in it
Hit BassPro shops for some ice cream
Did some paperwork

Sunday went hiking w/Cub Scout buddy
Ran over to the other side of town to meet up with friend and Great Dane
Lunched at Sonic (gorgeous weather!)
Went to Cub Scout meeting, learned about tents, tarps, and knots
Went home, picked up the girls, over to Grandma's to help with bed
rearranging, tightened up some loose screws on chairs, and out for
some good Deli for dinner
Left favorite daughter with Grandma
Home for some more paperwork....
I did touch the jeep....just barely :D

Saturday messed with my rear springs. Did not work yet. :twak: Installed the HD rear shackle box and was disappointed none of the frame rail holes lined up. Need to add some leafs and maybe look at some other possibilities.

Sunday Started to help my nephew swap a transmission in his Xterra. 10 hours and a lot of part later we had the transmission out. I don't think I want to work on Nissan's ever again. :helpme:

title and tags this A.M. (did I mention how much I love D.M.V.?)

new wipers and tires followed that (Dakota M/T LT235/75's X 4)
now I just need to have them mounted and get the inspection outta the way

Replaced:
Head gasket
Intake/Exhaust manifold gasket
Valve cover gasket
antifreeze
oil
fuel injector o-rings

opened up the exhaust ports with dremel and grinding stones

Finished a rear bumper build and rocker replacements on the same 2000 XJ that I recently built the front bumper for, this week I start the cage! On Saturday I installed a 4.5" rustys lift on a comanche, and on Sunday I did a 2" body lift on a 99 Taco. What busy week!!!
