Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Today UNCC_99XJ needed me to pull some crap off for him at pull-a-part. 1998 XJ classic- got the heated mirrors off of it, some computer he needed for his buddies and I got an end cap for my bumper because one of mine was fubared. Well, he gave me his old non-heated mirrors and they bolted right up to my '92! Which was nice, bigger mirrors so I can see crap better! Also I put on a non-power antenna on mine because I took my splash guard out and the power antenna finally quit working. So hopefully this week I can go back and get the front axle shafts out of that '98 because they are the ABS axles!

Nice scores! You only ripped off the the bumper cap in December :). Post up a picture of the mirrors.

hahaha, no I fixed that bumper cap. I knocked off another one, via parked car. I will get a pic tomorrow of the mirrors! Now hopefully next weekend I can throw up my overhead console!

Shh you aren't supposed to admit that! When you get the overhead in, let me know the tricks so I can get mine done :D

no Problem at all. I'm using an overhead out of a '96. They had one for a '91, but it was all hacked up because it also had a sunroof.

I finished building the front axle, I finished up the truss and welded on the skids and re-enforced the LCA mounts, also moved the sway bar mounts to clear the steering.

The rear axle is done.

Both have Aussie lockers and are geared 4.88. The front has the Longfield birfs/shafts and the rear has Yukon shafts. The rear truss is a RuffStuff medium duty and the front is home fabbed out of 2"x4"x1/4" rectangle tubing.

Those are some good looking axles!

u-bolt plates for control arm skids... brilliant!! Now all I've gotta do is go find my old ones and get off my butt and sting 'em on........

Yep, and they are 1/4" so plenty of beef. I might heat them up and bend them flat for more ground clearance but i want to make sure the JKS Johnnie joints will clear them ok before I bend them. Notice that due to the bend of the U-bolt plate it makes it very easy to weld the upper lip to the axle tube for even more support.

It was quite nice being able to walk down to the end of the row and find a TCU, two heated mirrors, and a NP242 skid plate laying in the back of a Dodge Grand Caravan :D Thanks again for pulling all that stuff!

Between myself and ckale1, we managed to score all that stuff plus the PDC fuse box, cruise control vacuum lines, overhead console screen, overhead console wiring, and fog light switch for right at $60. Gotta love when the woman who rings up all the parts barely speaks English and doesn't realize what you have! :D

stayed out all night saturday night.... late enough to hear real irish folk sing real drunken irish drinking songs in knoxville tenn. :D

got paid to watch the super bowl yesterday...

dunked my xj..... now i'm tryin to figure out what electrical problems i have now. fuel pumpy no worky, and the lights won't go off unless i disco the battery. it started for a second with ether, and didn't sound bad, so i'm gonna go from there. maybe it will get better as it warms up, and some of the ice in my cup holders can melt:(:D
i know, i'm a tard.

any pictures of you under water?

no, i was too busy trying to get it out as quick as possible to take pics. my dad was sitting in the jeep, and wasn't happy about gettin all wet with it 24 degrees outside.
spencer and kevin may have...

You're not sure if you went through water?

You're supposed to take the filter out of the box if you want to wash it out; not leave in while the Jeep is running.
