Weekend is over...what did you get done?

installed the ignition switch and starter last night and tested it at lunch to no avail... apparently its a ground somewhere that is causing all this so i pan on taking all the wires out of the lume in the engine bay like i had them before GM which is when this all started and check all the wires and grounds to make sure they are not touching something they arent suppose to... maybe then i will find my gremlin...

Spent 9 hours in the computer lab working on lab reports and 3d models for a class.

Went to dinner with the ex this evening in an attempt to bring some closure (for lack of a better word) at her request to our breaking up a couple of weeks ago....thinking this might should have been avoided at this point, but we'll see.

been BUSY with school and rebuilding the tow rigs motor.... and gathering parts for the dd tj(rock sliders, warn front bumper, rubicon tcase, and gonna move the winch from the xj to the tj)

well i know its NOT my battery because i used the winch to get it back into the garage so i can try and trace down this bad ground or whatever... maybe get to look at it tonight some...
dude, i've messed with this before! all you have to do it run a jumper wire and put a button on the dash! i did it to my buddy's, and he's been running ever since! just run a jumper to the small remote wire, and back to the fusebox. then all ya do is turn the key on, then push the button.:viking:

Don't think that will work for him, unless its a problem in the wiring ignition switch wiring. When he tries to start it, he turns the key and it will click one time, then EVERYTHING dies. It acts like a corroded battery cable...

Are you going the ammo can route we talked about Greg?

Ammo cans make great bolt storage containers. I almost bought a few pallets form the local base a couple years ago!

Ammo cans are great storage period. I have my snatch strap, d-rings, gloves, and ratchet straps all stored in one. Basically indestructible and easy to strap down and organize. Definitely need to get more.

i keep my tools, gloves, d-rings, extra ujoints, ratchet straps, and sometimes food in ammo cans. i love 'em!
i just changed the oil in the grandpa jeep for the first time since i got it, and i used castrol gtx high mileage 10w40 with a quart of lucas, with a wix filter. raise my oil pressure from 0-10 to 25-35, and at highway speed it sits right on 40.:D
i'm gettin some rattles still, but i'm thinking it is the heatshield on the catalytic converter, or it could also be my harmonic balancer, since there is rubber cracking and coming out of the middle of it... not too sure yet, but i don't think the motor is the rattle, since it doesn't change with rpm or speed. it is more noticeable at idle when i get out, but if i rev it from under the hood, it doesn't change, just gets drowned out by engine noise.

check your exhaust clamps as well...thats where my rattle came from. also could only hear it at idle

hey thanks! i wasn't too worried about it, so i was just lettin it rattle. i'm gonna hafta get another muffler soon, since i busted the stock one at wooly's. i figured that procedure can involve lookin for noises while i'm under there...

fabbed up a laptop mount in the XJ... can wait for big screen navigation!
