Doug - that's definitely a face only a mother could love :D

Airflow snorkel installed-- finally. Trip to Pick-n-Pull planned for the A.M. Sunday to look for the next project-- it's kinda strange having to look for something to do on the Heep!

saturday sunday at work, monday and tuesday at school, wednesday at work, thursday at school, friday off and do it again.... im purty busy during school semesters

I'm off for a semester of school so its Tue-Sat waiting tables 10-4, and Fri-Sun cooking 4-10. I think I'm against everyone else when I rejoice for Mondays.

trimmed fenders on an XJ for the first time... on someone else's, not mine :) (you'll see it at the march windrock ride)
...and without any details, tyler and i worked on the 3B and SVT.
...and found out the brake on my 8274 needs new "brake pads". also needs a good cleaning.

Hung out at my buddy's house in Blowing Rock for the weekend...got in some wheelin on the mountain too. On spring break for the week so i'll be spending it working on little misc. projects on the Jeep.

Saturday:

Swapped to stock rear shackles and greased the rear driveshaft splines. Much better.

Sunday:

Decided to change out the clutch fan for a new one. I wish engineers had to design stuff to work with big hands and fat fingers. I had a difficult time getting it swapped. My mother-in-law stopped by and got the bolts restarted in the hub.

replaced my disco with a solid shaft... too all friggin day, alittle more detail later on that.

took everything out just fine. i put the new axle seals in and btw i hate those things... no matter how i tried, besides having the correct tool, they are crooked but close enough i dont think they are going to leak...hopefully (i will carry some gear oil around if they do and fix it later)....

then i go to put it all back together and find out the cherokee axle i robbed them from has bigger stud plates on the ends and they wont fit inside my current disc brakes...yay!!

so i disassemble them and replace the hubs with the original ones, that wasnt actually that hard.... AFTER i killed myself trying to get an atleast 20yr old bolt off the end of the axle... let me tell you... NOT SO MUCH FUN without power tools, ended up using my highlift handle as a breakaway bar and a pry bar slid between the ujoint area to keep it from turning...

after reassembly of the axleshafts in the axle and put the brakes back on, it took me over an hour atleast to get one of the hub bolts back onto the axle, one went on just fine but the other one wouldnt thread on for sh!t, and i tried every trick in the book i could think of... finally got it on but in the process ate up some of the thread on the nut but all should be well i think... if not then i will find out on the trail... (i will be taking the extra one i have from the cherokee with me as well just in case and just have to make it off the mtn without a disk on that side unless i buy a new hub...)

Took advantage of the last 80* day for a while and cleaned up the Jeep, especially inside. Temporarily fixed the defroster door which started slamming shut on high speeds again, meaning no air coming out of the defroster. Only a matter of time before the arm slips off the shaft again, but for now it's a free fix. Checked the freon level for the A/C since it was warm enough to do so.

Painted a hitch that will go on the Jeep as soon as I not pay $40 for a nutsert.

Driving 2.5 hours to Fuquay tomorrow night for a visitation for my roommate's grandfather that passed away yesterday.
