Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Got an 8.8 (discs, 4:10, open) and picked up a pristine mj tailgate that only has a small dent on the top.

:variety:
hey buddy whatcha gonna do with that dana44? wanna sell it?:looney:

yeah a little later on when i get some more money save up to finish up the 8.8 swap, my 44 is set up for SOA on an MJ though.

-waterproofed the Airflow snorkel
-hooked horns up after moving them last year (procrastination?)
-plugged door harnesses back in after putting full doors back on in October
-installed late model washer fluid reservoir in the fender (had to relocate for snorkel)
-replaced heater blower motor
-tightened serp. belt in attempt to shut it up--FAILED
-exchanged mirrors from half doors to full doors
-rewired wiper motor where the linkage rubbed the "park" wire in half

can you tell that I'm preparing for the Communitswealth of Virginias annual rip-off..... err safety inspection? Three more years of this crap and she'll be wearing antique tags-- minimal restrictions, and NO INSPECTIONS!!!!

In Va, you must sign a form that states that you have another vehicle for daily transportation and provide proof of that to a notary. Antique vehicles are allowed on the road (with proper insurance, of course) any time for recreation, repairs, fueling, or attending social gatherings of clubs.

Although I currently drive her daily, I am inclined to limit the daily use to trips to the gas station, auto parts stores and trails in about 3.5 years. This shouldn't be too difficult with a 13.5 gallon tank and a 70 hour a week job with a major auto retailer. With 5 vehicles and only one licensed driver in the house, I doubt I'll ever draw much attention for a couple antique vehicles.

Sold my Scout II axles. Whoohoo! Helped mbogosia and trail rate this pull a D30 axle from a XJ in my personal junkyard.

Weekend is starting out pretty good.

I sprayed a weed in the yard...then

Got some parts together for the Windrock trip. Cleaned up my tent. Hosed off the Jeep and put on a sticker or two.

... not much!

New trans cross member, materials on hand but not fabbed......

Maybe tomorrow I will get something done.

John

I'd love to get one of them, but I can't wait the thirty years it would take to get built... and planning for different radii would require that I use it every few years as the tree grows, huh.

Went to a hockey game Friday night...spent yesterday working on a project for school during the day then helped a friend put x-pipes on his Mustang...grilled out after workin on the car. Spent today working on more school work and helped install a ZJ brake booster on a friends XJ.

procrastinated the better part of the weekend away and then solved belt squeal............. for now.

replaced idler pulley and harmonic balancer, sanded glaze off water pump and fan clutch pulleys, and wire brushed the scuzz out of the steering, AC, and alternator pulleys. Quiet as a church mouse for now.

Installed a coolant tank from a Dodge Intrepid...now I have a real radiator cap. No more worrying about bad coolant tanks on the closed system!
