Weekend is over...what did you get done?

In 4 hours last night I:

Installed the baby 3" lift, dealt with 4 busted rear upper shock bolts, new track bar, installed CPS, mounted my ravines/31's and did a front end alignment.

It sure is nice to have a lift and a cement floor. Those two items are on the top of my list when I get moved into the new house. If I'd done that stuff at my house I would have got it done but it sure would have taken a lot longer.

I know where i'm going for my next lift install...

I remember when mine was that clean...

No kidding! Me too. This shop belongs to one of my Dad's friends. He lives about 3 miles up the road from me. I went to school with his daughter.

He's got one hell of a set-up... that's for sure.

That was the first time I'd used his shop to do anything. First thing I said was that the lift looks just like the one that I used all the time at the Career Center in Auto Mech back in highschool... Turns out it's the same lift that had been dug out of the ground and relocated to this guys shop. I thought that was rather interesting.

Yea lift is top of the list for my shop.... after a get a trailer.

I don't have a house payment or any car payments but by George I'll finance a shop and a lift. lol

Yea guy who owns the place across form my shop was telling me of a sale recently where two lifts in crates were sold for $500. I told him the next time he got a call like that to call me.

My dad put a lift in his shop and it's been a huge help. I'd have never gotten half the jobs done that I have if it hadn't been for it. Bad part about it is that I've probably given it 80% of the use it has on it. He basically just uses it for oil changes & brake jobs :)

Lifts are cheap, a shop that they will fit inside, not so much. I only paid $1600 delivered for my lift, brand new. That doesnt include the almost $7k to raise my shops ceiling... Built it tall from the beginning.

My shop use to house ambulances. However I do know that the cross parts will be in my roof or that I can get a low roof lift. I was told I'd trip over the stuff on the floor though. lol!

Rear brakes done this week. It doesn't' stop on a dime, maybe a quarter. I had driven on crappy brakes so long I almost broke my face the first time I stopped. So one less leak. I will soon be able to once again park on the driveway. Next up for leak fixing: power steering.

Anyone have a Hack-n-Tap (97+) or a t-case drop dohicky laying around ya want to get rid of?

I don't want to deal with the t-case drop but it might have to do for a temporary solution.

231 Praise Jebus.

Lol there's nothing wrong with a 242. I wheeled with one up until last summer. Only reason why I got rid of it was because it didn't play nice with my locker.

Since you've got a 231, why not do a real SYE instead of a hack n tap? H&T is great for a 242 as that's about your only option, but I love my AA SYE in my 231 currently.

Well, to be completely honest, because I can't afford a real SYE right now.

I have an AA SYE in my trail junk and have never had a problem out of it.

I even have a brand shiny new Tom Woods shaft to go in the green Jeep. Just need to SYE. lol

But, you're right... I shouldn't settle. I'll probably slap a dumb ole t-case drop on there for a while until I can buy a legit SYE. Or someone tells me they have what I want on the low.

Oh, and I just have a bad taste in my mouth for 242's because of my Grandparents ZJ. Had nothing but trouble out of that case. That's the only experience I've had with it.
