Weekend is over...what did you get done?

SOLD.

Got it for $225 since it didn't have a remote. Dude was asking 350 for it. I don't use the remote anyways. I'm going to take it apart and clean everything up. Especially the solenoids. The terminals are a little cruddy but cleanable. I wired it up to my truck and used my Dad's Warn remote to test it out. All works well. Now, who wants a Smittybilt XRC8?

How much for the Smitty?

I'm looking to buy something tomorrow that I intend to carry on a regular basis. It needs to be small and needs to have a safety. I have $450 to spend. I'm not interested in huge calibers in .380 sized frames. I already have a 9mm but it's not as quality of a name brand as I'd like to have.

Here's what I like the looks of.

Which one would you pick?

S&W Bodyguard .380

I like that this will fit in my back pocket and can be concealed extremely easy...

S&W Shield Chambered in either 9mm.

I like that this has a bit more power and I already have a decent stock of 9mm ammo but it won't be quite as easy to conceal. This won't fit in my back pocket.

I'm leaning more towards the P shooter since I already have a 9mm for the truck and the wife's .45 for the house. (Yes, her's is bigger than mine.)

Then, you have to consider the .380 is only 20 bucks less than the 9mm...

I can't make up my damn mind.

The shield in 9mm.... .380 is the caliber of victims. If I can get a glock 27 under a t shirt you can hide a shield :D

My wife loves her Ruger LCR "hammer-less". Nothing is more reliable than a revolver. I won't own a auto anything for personal protection. Auto's will jam and missfire, revolvers can misfire as well but all you do is pull the trigger again! She has the .38, it shoots sweet. Now I want one!

I like wheel guns a lot... I have a cheapie .38 myself for backup ;)

I've run my auto so much I'm pretty quick clearing jams...my xd has had a flawless run over 3 years... But I practice when my star misses because of bad ammo, it's picky.

I finally got to handle a Shield last week. I had to hand it back quickly to keep the drool in check. I am a big fan because its the slim single stack 9mm similar to the Kahr, but the trigger is oh so close to my fullsize M&P.

The downside to the Shield... its at least a 6 month wait for one around here, or you are going to pay upwards of $600 to buy one from an individual (170% of original value).

I waited 3 days.

I love this thing. Shot a box of ammo thru it an hour or so ago.

It has a sweet trigger pull.

It's amazing improvement over my vending machine Sccy 9mm.

I hate you.

Let me know if you get rid of it. If you don't mind, what did you pay for it?

Took a ride out to the mountains today to pick up some stuff for Doug, and visit an old friend.

Old man bought a Tracker today for a donor for our Samurai project we started...3 years ago.

OBDII (either a 96 or 97..can't remember), no transmission (automatic that went out...not that we care), with 70K on the motor. Paid $450 for it. And it's a RHD model too!

Now, just gotta find a way to haul it home next weekend from VA....

Project Zebra is about to be back underway...
