Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Don't know where that 96 year he quoted came from... if you have a 95 HO, early-90s through first half of 99 should work.

Kept it simple and within the body design he owns. Besides there are a lot more 1992-1996 XJ's in salvage yards around here. I'm sure you are right about the unit bearings being the same up to 99.5.

Yeah, the PaP in Nashville isn't known for getting newer body style Jeeps in. Luckily, the little salvage yard up near me has some newer ones. My goal is to get the newest ones I can find, along with with some brake hardware.

on a 3" RC lift with full packs + 2" shackle and 2" pucks.. i should be thinking of a SYE soon right?

I have a 4.5" RC lift with no t-case drop or SYE. Drives just fine. You will just have to take it out and see.

Fair enough  around here new body style ones are pretty common in the junkyard, but finding ones with intact header panels and fenders is nearly impossible.

X2 on the SYE, drive it, if it feels bad do it otherwise :dunno: feel lucky and run it!

There is a brake change on the early ones that the latter unit barings will not work on. IIRC the 84-90 unitbearings are interchangable and the 91-99 are interchangable.

So as long as I get unit bearing from 91-99 and brakes from 91-99 then I should be set. Sounds easy enough.

i actually got one for a 93 for free, and it was too big to fit inside the brake rotor on my 87, so i took the ol' angle grinder and made it fit:D worked like a charm, but took a while...

go big or go home even when your not wheelin :D blew a tire with the MJ on the trailer headed for High2by's....

mark came and saved me since my trusty 4way is still in the jeep, we did some tire musical chairs and managed to get it to sit on three tires and made the rest of the journey rather slow.... good thing i dont have to tow anything back.... i didnt notice the missing tire on the way home ;)

Spent most of this week searching high and low for my torque wrench and dial indicator, to no avail. Broke down and bought both items again. It amazes me how things grow legs....

Yesterday some people we knew had a car wreck. Not such a good outcome. I didn't know the driver but the younger kids are good friends of my brother. So we spent a good bit of time dealing with that... You guys keep them in your prayers.

That is terrible. Did you know the guy that died recently in Clemson? He was driving his zj and wrecked near Clemson 4x4.

I know how you feel. Couldn't find my DMM and plumbing torch for the life of me after my last move. Ah well, now I have two DMMs and 3 plumbing torches (wasn't the first time that had happened with the torch.) Fortunately the new DMM has way more features and plumbing torches are cheap.

Got most of a CEL-free e-fan override switch wired up last night on the '98. I went all OCD on it and installed the relay in the PDC using terminals scavenged from a junkyard PDC. I doubt even a dealership tech would notice it.

Went to look at the AC on a WJ the night before last...hopefully i'll have that job lined up early next week for a quick $100. Helped take a small dog pen down for one of my old professors....got $100 out of that and a nice scotch on the rocks as we finished up right at night fall. All while trying to get adjusted to the 40ish hour work week....i'm wore out!

All while trying to get adjusted to the 40ish hour work week....i'm wore out!

I'm used to a 40ish hour work week... I'm trying to get used to a 60-70 hour work week. I'M wore out! Always 6 days a week, sometimes sunday too. 5am-3:30pm every day. They pay good though. time and a half overtime and double time on sunday. The paycheck makes it worth it.

And still trying to get some stuff done to the Jeep when I get home... not working out so well.

I'm still waiting on my wrench and dial indicator to get here...
