Hey, I get down that way a few times a year. I have family in Lawrenceville and friends in the Macon area. I usually have the XJ with me. Unfortunately, I'm only running 235/75 15's, so off roading may be out :)

Shoot, im only on a 2"bb with 255's. I don't take anything i don't think i can handle. Unfortunately though, most of whats around here is alot of mud (which I despise). Better trails around ATL.

I almost hate to stir this up again, but...

I never understood why people get so worked up about the "posers."

Just take it as a compliment and move on.

I mean, you said yourself, these are KIDS. They think real four-by's are "cool" and want to imitate. No different than wearing some star's football jersey or dressing up like that britney brat.

They admire us, want to be or at least look like us, and you go and bitch about it. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so take it as flattery and lighten the fuk up!

Yeah they could be driving civics w fart can mufflers and ridiuous wings, neons and stick on graphix and if they are really pimpin spinner hubcaps from walmart.Mabey they are posers or mabey they just aint got the dough to do all the serios mods yet.I know all of my mods have been done pretty much in the dark for lack of a good XJ mentor. Some worked out some didnt, but since ive found this forum Ive gotten a lot more solid advice for when the funds come in to take my Jeep to the next level.

Or still smarting from his favorite Senator getting his a$s handed to him.

still no pics.

here's a question for all the guys out there that have gotten snooty comments on thier smallish, or even stock jeeps:

Who has said it?

I'd be willing to bet it isn't from people that are TRULY "hardcore". They are comfortable knowing what they and thier jeeps are capable of...... I'd be willing to bet it comes from am overly proud dork in the moderate set that has too high of an opinion of thier wheeling abilities......

Meaning, the people making these similar "hardcorish" statements have no idea what its all about.

am i right?

Amen Beezil. All that I did to my XJ is add a Ridgid front bumper, front and rear receiver hitchces, and upgraded the tires. I can get into (and usually out of) some pretty hairy situations. I even have a little rock rash on the front fender to prove just how "hardcore" I am. I guess that I need to move that spare out of the back to complete the look. ;)

I really could not care less about gaining the approval of a driver of a moderately built rig. To each his own, I guess.

I'm not hard core and have NEVER gotten any negitive feedback from regulars on this site, if anything it has been positive comments that just make me work harder to get my rig to where i want it- .... cept for the Den of course :D

sorry this is the only "hardcore" pic that we took this year.

looks like my theory about bombastic crap slinging from the moderate camp is accurate.

I think what needs to happen is for you to get tied to the top of my rollcage, and lucky for you I don't even own a spare, theres plenty of room, and our fellow stockers can spot me through a boulder run of thier choice!

i never said i was hardcore, the only point i was tryin to make 4 pages back, was the spare on the roof when there was no need for it, i was not tryin to put down anyone here! from the stock guys to the hardcore guys, yes we all own jeeps that are built to our own liking, and that's cool!

so do i say i'm sorry for speaking my mind? i thought that's what we do here.
so if i offended anyone here i'm sorry

My question, and a lot of the guys points here is... How do you know there is no need for it?

just when your not wheelin, and you have nothing in the back, like i said maybe it's more around here, but i've seen alot of that, so i guess i dont know for sure they dont need it, but when you see the same rigs every day very clean with the tire on top, it just makes ME think it's up on top for looks.

i hope i said that better.
