yeah go back to your first one and then go back to your last comment that mentioned...

AND I F'ING QUOTE " I was not trying to put anyone down..."

HELLO ???

Open mouth insert foot...

P.S. you didn't mention others putting people down, only that you were not trying to. You should start reading from the beginning beacuse I think you forgot quite a few things in the exchange, and I GUARANTEE YOU...I have more backing on this one than you.

I emplore anyone else to chime in NOW!!

Dont make me go back to the 4 pages I haven't touched yet because I will.
I'm sure there is much more fodder there I didn't put in.

pertaining to your comment on the 31s thing...what exactly are you saying, since i have 31s i dont know what im talking about?
Nope not saying that at all...I was just talking about the guys you see all the time with a nice newer cherokee...in highschool...who built it just to look cool and maybe one day will go wheeling. I ran my cherokee for along time with 31...this was after having a built up wrangler.
Lots of people I know get there rigs in to places with 31s that I wouldn't want to drive mine with 35s.
I guess the point I was making is that when you see guys around here that are lifting there cherokees with the sole intention of looks(which BTW I don't have a problem with...I wish I had a nice looking DD XJ on 31s) it seems that 31 inch tire is what you see most of all.

And all I'm saying is "look how it reads..." I don't like seeing people (i.e. you in this instance) put themselves in that position.

Just read it from the beginning and understand how it got this far.
I've gotten tore up ONCE. Thats all it took, because I said something (stupid) and got my as$ handed to me.

like i said...look how it reads and the responses you got. It's self explanitory.

PEACE.

just when your not wheelin, and you have nothing in the back, like i said maybe it's more around here, but i've seen alot of that, so i guess i dont know for sure they dont need it, but when you see the same rigs every day very clean with the tire on top, it just makes ME think it's up on top for looks.

i hope i said that better.
Wasn't going to say anything but Jeep sells a rack to put your tire on the roof...Know why? SPACE! Same reason they used to make a swing out.
I'm sure this has been pounded on...I am too lazy to read all 100 posts on this thread but man...If the highschool kids around here wanted to be bigger posers and look cooler with their XJs they would go buy an expencive bumper with a swing out...Trust me they have the money...I see the little blonds in their BMWs all the time.

of course.

no one else had passed judgements on any poseurs.

no need to back-pedal.

don't sweat it though, enjoy your trip through the spanking machine. Some like it when it stings.

Let me state myself a little more basically...

Let's say I put my spare up on the roof because I need the space occasionally to haul gear, or just put my junk in the back. Now, I do this fairly often, say once a month or so. Most of the time though my Jeep is empty of cargo and quite possibly clean, as maybe I like to keep the paint maintained. Now, should I have to lug the tire up from the cargo bay to the roof every time I want to move something? That's a pain in the ass, even when you're talking a 215 it's still a pain.

You following my line here? Just becuase you see the vehicle without gear or whatever doesn't mean the never have it. I have my tire on a swing out carrier, but most times you see my Jeep the cargo area is empty. But I do wheel about once a month, and when I do the cargo area is just about full of gear, I wouldn't want to move my tire around every time I go wheelin', hell it's enough of a pain in the ass to load up my gear every time!

yep!, i get it.
thanks

I remember when my jeep was stock. I really couldn't stand the 225 tire in there at all.

I shudder to think about it, but I was REALLY close to buying one of those UGLYASS tire carriers from mopar. Now, the older style ones are pretty okay looking, but the new style, which I only have seen 1 or 2 on the road in ten years, is fugginugly IMHO.....

Can you imagine how big of a non-offroader people would have thought of me with a mopar tire carrier holding a 225 tire?

Shudder at the thought!

You talking the bullshit ones that mount to the right side of the bumper and latch to the hatch? Almost as ugly as the ****ed 30º frenched license plate bumpers on those Chevy S-10's (and saw one on a ricer last night too). I see those carriers around here a few times, not much though.

I got me the q-uality OEM Mopar tire carrier, yeah baby!
