Top 10 things that piss me off when Wheeling.

People who throw their cigarrette butts out the window in the middle of July/August/Sept or who start a "campfire" and then don't put them out.
:flamemad: Then the jack asses have the nerve to bitch when forest service/blm shut down trails!

20-something: People travelling towards you in convoy on a trail, but their idiot leader never bothers to signal how many are in their group. Always fun on blind bends when you have to inch out, stop suddenly to avoid hitting a motorcyclist / quad rider / other four-wheeler, and repeat three or four times because someone couldn't indicate the appropriate number or an all-clear.

I hate the people that cause the closing of trails because of littering, tearing up the trails, or whatever. Sooner or later there will be no more land for the people that love to wheel to enjoy a great sport.

there is nothing wrong with drinking and wheeling and there is nothing wrong with driving a sky high f-150, but there is something wrong with people tearing trails up, theres not alot of trails in west oregon thats for sure, but its mostly mud, snow or sand over in the west anyway not alot of rock, but i understand what your saying

18: When the person behind you is afraid to key up and say "Hey, I am not comfortable driving this fast, would you mind slowing down?"

:roflmao: I got lost my first time out at JV cause of that. Twas dark and Goatman and Dave T. just floored it...lets just say I couldn't keep up with em...wandered around JV for about 30min, finally back it back to the campsite. But I would have spoken up but no CB. That will be changing real soon.

XX) Nude guys standing on the outside edge of a blind corner taking pictures of the 3500 foot drop into the canyon, while their Subaru Forester is parked in the middle of the freaking trail, just around the blind corner.

I lead a trail run last year for a Food Drive that the club I belong to puts on for a local charity. I had the follwoing idiots in my group
1) drinking on the trail
2) showed up to the meeting spot with an empty tank of gas with the closest gas station being 30 minutes away
3) thought 30 PSI was "airing down"
4) worst wiring job on a toyota I have ever seen.. took us 20 minutes to get it started in the middle of the trail
5) no hooks
6) guy with a TJ on 33's that didn't know what his swaybar was or how to disconnect it

I did a deployment to Turkey years ago and threw a butt out of my HMMWV.....I remember I was passing a School.

On the return trip about an hour later, I passed the entire school population frantically trying to put out a brush fire.

Lesson learned.

This Post reads like a handbook of "what to avoid in order to make the club guys like you." ;) Of course most of the people your talking about wouldn't take the time to learn how not to piss off other jeepers...and some of it is just common sense. I know the forest service here in South Dakota is very touchy about what 4 wheelers do because of all the fires we have had over the last year or two.
Keep them coming, and hopefully us newbies will learn a thing or two about trail etiquette before we find our way off the pavement.
