then fire came
Hmm, that gives me an idea... Colin where you staying at night?:firedevil

Especially if we keep hosting events at my place :viking:

I'm somewhat scared to take my Jeep up to your place when I finally get it back on its feet. I'm not quite like Colin, Ross or Rob, I try to avoid body damage.

Guess it's time to codify my list:

1. Install HD tie rod
2. Paint/Install JCR TCase Skid
3. Install lift parts (to get from 2" to about 3")
4. Source/install new power antenna
5. Fix power mirror wiring
6. Readjust deflators from 12psi up to 18psi

finish rear bumper and put that on
put in new front shafts
winch controls
disc conversion
WJ booster/MC swap
new drag link
figure out why my ARB doesn't work

Added a few more things to my list...I think I'm supposed to cross stuff off not add stuff...damn it

WJ booster/MC swap is now a must. My master cylinder has been crappy for a while but it's to the point now where I cant drive it...gonna try to do that this weekend

I suppose I have 2 "to do" list options:
Common items:
-Unibody tie-in's for rear bumper
-new front bumper mounts (unibody tie-in's)
-maybe a winch on front bumper
-maybe/hopefully rock rails - CHECK [pending]
-SYE - CHECK
-hopefully skids - CHECK [pending on whether they are sold yet]

-297x D30 shafts - Added - Hopefully taking care of this this weekend

Axles option 1: - CHECK
-XJ width 9" rebuilt
-regear D30 - (with truetrac and diff cover)

Possibly long arms
So I have come quite a bit further than I expected already, updated items in bold... The bumper tie-ins are just a matter of picking up some steel. And the winch/long arms I think are largely dependent on how the taxes look.

I really hope the guy with the skids that I emailed gets back to me soon... That would knock another item off my list.

heres my list

install front and rear axles

front tow hooks

rock rails

fix cb wiring

gas tank skid

t-case skid

...all i can think of for now

very tempted to break out the credit card and take advantage of JCR's current sale and get some good bumpers, and sliders :spin1:

shall i be the first to do a list for this year?

to do:
-get axles from travis and swap them in done
-design and fabricate 3 link and cross member mostly designed
-weld on ruff stuff stiffeners
-make 3x3 angle iron stiffeners for the rear of the unibody
-make shock hoop things that go through the floor for the rear shocks and rework rear bumpstops
-fix lots of rust (this one could take quite a while) in progress
-weld in 2x6 rocker replacements and tie into unibody rails
-swap transmission/transfercase(s)

to buy:
-DOM and rect tube for 3 link and crossmember need DOM still
-tube adapters done
-joints for 3 link done
-clutch
-rims and tires (haven't even decided what kind i want yet)

i also decided to make a doubler out of a np231 front half and a D300... so add that to my list.

i'll be lucky to finish for fall crawl. but if by some miracle i'm done by nacfest, i'll be there.

You could totally make fall crawl. Let me fix that list for you.

This is all you have left that you NEED to do.

shall i be the first to do a list for this year?

to do:
-design and fabricate 3 link and cross member
-weld on ruff stuff stiffeners
-weld in 2x6 rocker replacements and tie into unibody rails
-swap transmission

And skip the doubler for now. Build it over the summer. You're totally going to regret not being able to go.

its more fun to wheel now than build stuff for later

I figure once my rig is up and running that leave me 1-2 weekends per month of wheeling and week nights and the other weekends to work on the Jeep. My goal is to upgrade but to keep the Jeep in a functional state at all times. I.e. a new transfer case will not go in until I have it completely done and have everything I need to fully complete that part of the project.

...That coming from a guy who hasn't driven his Jeep for more than 5 hours in the past 20 months  Maybe I should just go shuddup until I get out wheeling at least once.

nope. doing it once, doing it right. i like building stuff just as much as i like wheeling.
