To Do List

I read somewhere that the 4.88's don't fit in one of the axles without doing some grinding. I forgot which one but I know it was one of mine. HP30/C8.25

hmm

never heard of the grinding

but until recently 4.56 was as deep as you could go in a 8.25

but now nitro gear offers 4.88's for the 8.25s

and nitro gear is good stuff

Grind down one tooth on the 8.25 ring gear to get the cross shaft back into the carrier.

No big deal.

Go 4.88s or we will all make fun of you.

And you can't deal with Carmelo making fun of you...trust me.

i need to:
build axles
install axles
wheel till axles fall out

this exact same thing happened to a friend of mine

he built a d60 and 10.25

installed them

and his front axle literally fell out at rc due to ghetto bracketry

shall i be the first to do a list for this year?

to do:
-get axles from travis and swap them in
-design and fabricate 3 link and cross member
-weld on ruff stuff stiffeners
-make 3x3 angle iron stiffeners for the rear of the unibody
-make shock hoop things that go through the floor for the rear shocks and rework rear bumpstops
-fix lots of rust/rework rear wheel wells (this one could take quite a while)
-weld in 2x6 rocker replacements and tie into unibody rails
-swap transmission
-(?) design and fabricate anti-axle wrap mechanism (for the rear)

to buy:
-DOM and rect tube for 3 link and crossmember
-tube adapters
-joints for 3 link and anti-axle wrap device
-clutch
-rims and tires (haven't even decided what kind i want yet)
-cb radio?

more things i thought of:
- rig up OBA
- gas tank swap/relocation

To Do list...
Nothing, I am not allowed, we are getting married in Oct, But
I need to find a place to put my damn spare tire & be able to carry 2 passengers.

in the cargo area? if you lay it down flat and to one side it fits

sup rob, this is how I roll now, extra fluids in the bin, spare driveshaft & tie rod under the deck.

I have a stock tire carrier as seen here....
scan1141.jpg

The carrier does not work with a 33, the tire is too wide and heavy to be latched onto the hatch. It has to be spaced out and rattles/wiggles like a bitch. So I just want to modify it so that it latches to the bumper and not the hatch. I need the room in the trunk to go on trips etc, sometimes I go with 3 other people so filling the hatch with tire is out of the question & so is putting it on the roof, because I haul kayaks up there.

Congrats MrShaft696!
Nothing to do to MRDUTCH!
No sense messing with what works for me!

To do:

Install front bumper
Install Rock Rails
Upgrade to abs axle shafts upfront
SYE and adjust linkage so 4lo works.
Install Diff Cover/Gas Tank skid/Transfer Skid
Find a set of 31's.

I suppose I have 2 "to do" list options:
Common items:
-Unibody tie-in's for rear bumper
-new front bumper mounts (unibody tie-in's)
-maybe a winch on front bumper
-maybe/hopefully rock rails
-SYE
-hopefully skids

Axles option 1:
-XJ width 9" rebuilt
-regear D30

Axles option 2:
-HP44/9" built and installed (and geared to at least 4.88's)

If option 2 is pursued it will most likely involve a long arm kit being fabbed/installed as well, though option 1 may also involve long arms.

Here's the full list, I think I probably left out a few minor things. Lot of work to do before a shakedown run.

To do/build:
PSC Hydro Steering (ram mounted)
Panhard (in progress)
Front Bumper
Front fenders (sheetmetal and bars)
Entire fuel system (cell, pump, reg, lines)
Entire brake system (MC, lines, etc)
Front driveshaft (cut down a stocker for now)
Re-gear front D60
Final assembly both axles
Cover hole in pass floor from link mount
Belly pan
Skin rockers
Paint interior
Remount seats, harnesses, etc

To do/buy:
Front spindles
Rear driveshaft
Trans Cooler
Triple rate springs/sliders
Brake hoses
Mopar TPS and IAC
CSF 3-Core Radiator
3/8" UHMW
Winch (optional)
Misc Hardware
Battery

bill, that's gotta feel good that you actually have it down to a list short enough worth posting.
