ok :gee:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Man I hate when homework gets in the way of me working on the Jeep. Looks like I'll be doing an alignment in the dark tonight. COOL!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Though honestly Anthony, I'm debating running my steering setup like Chris (Vetteboy) did on his rig. Draglink goes pitman arm - high steer arm and tierod goes knuckle to knuckle.

This way you get crossover steering, long flat draglink, and can mount hydro assist straight to the diff cover/tierod.

I've bashed my tie rod plenty of times with no ill effects.

i see... i suppose it wouldn't be nearly so bad with a huge skid built for a hydro assist ram. or full hydro... i see the appeal.

I hate that setup for the hydro assist, Yeah it works for some people, but I know of plenty of other people that have had a lot of problems with mounting it to the cover. and IF you have problems, the last thing you'd want is for the diff cover's bolt holes to get wallowed out, cause that would just plain suck. On the 44 I was just going to mount a ram to the front of the bracketry on the PS. (I'll show you on thursday, Anthony)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'll try the no sway bar but it kinda sketchs me out, I mainly drive tight backroads untill I hit the highway.

Pansy.

The new-to-me Jeep is coils front and rear, and no swaybars...But I'd MUCH rather have the body lean than have the thing roll over. Swaybars sketch me out :wierd:

1. I wouldn't do it without countersunk bolt holes.
2. I wouldn't do it without lubelockers.

Both of which I have.

The people that had problems...did they use countersunk bolts? I could see wallowing if one wasn't using them.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'll give it a shot after I do an alingment tomorrow. If I dont mind it John might be mad at me as I already said I would buy his JKS disco's. Or I'll give 'em to my uncle as a birthday gift.

If you loose engine power, you still have that "mechanical" link to the steering that everyone likes to have. Even if you loose a line, you can still steer due to the double ended ram acting as the middle of the tie-rod. If he wants to go to full hydro, then all he needs is an orbital.

found that on my local forum, kinda cool.
