I have my scuba diving written exam today. Always make sure you dont ascend faster than 60 ft/min (should do 30 ft/sec), otherwise you can get messed up. Pneomothorax, embolism, metiastinal emphysema, subcutaneous emphysema, or decompression sickness (the bends).

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So I'm gonna call up Bilstein and ask if there's any difference between 5165s and 7100s. They cost about the same...not sure where the difference is.

Also not sure if 7100s come precharged with nitrogen or not...if not anyone know where I can charge them?

I also want a shortbody shock up front so if I get a 40º+ driveshaft in the future I don't have to buy a longer shock. I need a 16" collapsed shock up front at the most, and as of right now at ~25" extended I'll be limit strapping it. I'd rather have the 12" shortbody (16.10" collapsed, 28" extended).

Out back I think it's just going to be 5150s 255/70 10" travel.

larger remote resi, rebuildable heim mounts (5165 is stem.. blech).. they come charged.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You can get 5165s with bushings on both ends...

I still want to see what the difference is since both are rebuildable.

I'll probably end up with the 7100s.

Ordering brakes for my VW at the end of the week. I think I'm going to make the responsible choice and only upgrade a little bit (OEM rotors and Hawk HPS pads) for $350 vs spending $800 and having race-worthy brakes.

Good choice. My brakes are starting to make some squealing noises and my rear struts are sucking wieners in the Honda, I'm going to ignore both of them and the save money for steel. :laugh3:

Thanks. I wager I can get the brake job done in a morning or afternoon. The only crappy part is that the pistons have to be rotated back into the caliper. You can't just use a C-clamp.

Don't waste any $ on the Honduh. You're making the right call

Das-Auto is weird. I never did the brakes on my VW so I don't know if they were the same.

I plan on keeping this car for a little while longer. I usually only have a car for a year at a time tops, the Jeep is the only exception so far. I think it's the rear because my e-brake is getting worse and I did the fronts when I bought the car. But they're gay drums so I'll wait until I absolutely have to before I do them.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I focking hate VW brakes.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I hate being sick.

Anyone know if there are any parts stores that can test the output of an alternator rather than just test if it will pass/fail? Kinda curious what my alternator output is before I install it..

I pulled up that web site and it was a sleeping bag. As I was reading about the bag the webpage auto-refreshed and suddenly I was staring at that.
