Team NAXJA/Petty Cash Racing stock class KOH XJ build

The Nor Cal Rock Racing series, where you won the stampede, is this weekend.

I guess you answered that question. Thought maybe you would be going for series title. :viking:

We are! But we are going for the Ultra4 series title. The stampede was a stop on the way, then the Glen Helen Grand Prix two weeks ago, now the American Rocksport Challenge in Utah next month.

We took some badly needed downtime after Glen Helen, but a couple of weeks ago got back at it again.

You may remember this crack:

All welded up now, and Kevin braced the living snot out of it.

Its a damn poor job that can't afford some supervisors.

In pulling the NSS for rebuild, I broke this stupid plastic nipple up here:

What a pain in the ass! I couldn't get my arm up there to fish the broken bits out, so ended up pulling the exhaust.

Amazing how much room there is when you take the bigger pieces of the car off.

I didn't bother taking pictures of the NSS rebuild, there are several good writeups here - but all adjusted and ready to go!

Finished up race prep on the 4th.

One of the difficulties we are presented with these far away races is getting there. Usually I drive my truck out loaded with my full rollaway box, every spare part for the car, 4-5 spare tires and 40 gallons of fuel; and Richard will drive his camper or RV out with all of the food and beer.

For the Utah race, we're consolidating down to what can fit in an under the car, and are all carpooling out with Goatman's truck. I sure hope I guessed right on what to take and what to leave... :/

These pictures don't really do justice, but we've packed every inch of the car..

I'll throw my safety gear and a couple of changes of clothes into the drivers floor space once its on the trailer, and then we're off and running. We certainly hope to see some of you this coming weekend at Miller Motor Sports!

Time for a bigger trailer? haha.

Have you weighed your trailer with all that on it?

Not as an assembly.

My trailer weighs 1100 pounds. 4643 weighs in at 4882 ready to race, with a full tank, spares and tools. I doubt there's another 1K in gear there.

Goatmans trailer is rated to 9900, and we typically take his when we're running with just 1 truck.

Will there be online coverage?

There usually is at ultra4racing.com/live but we'll try to post updates. Last race at Glen Helen we rolled and I broke a finger, hopefully we'll keep it rubber side up all weekend and pull out a win. We're leading the series points race by a slim margin.

rubber DOWN this time, DOWN.

:D

Wow, yeah, please... Paint side up, rubber side down. Not sideways, not upside down.

Be kind to your finger, Richard, and cruel to your competition!!

:kissyou:
