stroker plans

Check Falcon sales I think on ebay. They sell rebuild stuff for the 4.0 a'la carte, so you can pick and choose what you want and they have pretty competitive prices. I got my .030 over rings from them. Theyre very helpful, which is good if you dont know exactly what you want.

going to be getting to 99+ intake for cheap. calling up a machine shop tomorrow to get a quote. prob going to order .030 pistons thru auto zone.

ok. i got .040 speed pro pistons. flowcool water pump. edelbrock header. 24lb injectors. mopar magnum vavle springs. 7120 head. after market cam (specs coming soon) 4.2 rods. 4.2 crankshaft that i was told was 20 lbs lighter then the normal ones. and a 99+ intake.
everything is used. going to buy new rings and a full gasket kit. maybe an injector kit to be safe.

the thing is that i'd like to run 87 octane. these parts came from another stroker. the guy said he only used 93 octane cause thr 87 knocked. is there a way that i can run 87 maybe 89?

The best way to run a lower octane is to have the pistons dished. Don't change the head gasket thickness as it will increase the quench which would be bad. You could also open up the combustion chambers in the head a bit, but I don't know if you have a whole lot to gain there.

Also, did you get the Mopar retainers and locks to go with teh springs?

that should be the 4weight crank as opposed to the 12weight crank.
depending what your building this for, that 4wt will get moving quicker and may be better at higher RPM's... but if you want this more for trails, rocks, slow moving low RPM's I would think the 12wt may be more to your liking.

I am looking for a 12wt crank for my future build, but to each his own.

i have a crank from a 85 cj also sitting in my building. pm me if your interested in buying one.

I got a stoker in my pants you can have big boy

Come on man, its 5... we round up in this neck of the woods... All i gotta do is arch my back

I don't think the fuel rail changed between the XJ and ZJ. I would just try to keep it the same year, or what ever the year range for that particular fuel rail is. I think there are only two fuel rails though, the return system and return less.

Does the rail have anything to do with determining pressure? I know the later rails have dampers incorporated in them, but beyond that, they're really just pipe manifolds, aren't they?

Correct, rail has nothing to do with determining pressure except the later rails with the pressure regulator on them, but that isn't really the rail. In the 97+ the regulator is on top of the fuel pump.
