...sorry...another build thread...

It happened on the way there . There is no money back

I was thinking the same thing. I've only ever run a 2" ram on a stock pump, but it was far from twitchy. Smooth and steady to the point I worried about needing to make high speed maneuvers. Although as Jon demonstrated, high speed maneuvers in a lifted jeep on 37"+ tires make it hard to stay shiny side up any way.

When I was thinking of doing assist PSC warned me about different characteristics of driving on the street and actually recommended putting more caster into the front end to make it more "streetable". I am surprised they didn't do the same when you talked to them Jon. That was the reason why I went with their bigger steering box instead, which has worked great with my 37's.

So I had two issues going on. steering, and I think the brakes locked up. the goofy steering caused me to try to slow down, and I have no idea how the hell the rear end kicked out but I am wondering if the rear brakes locked up real fast?

I am running the super dupee big bore box from PSC with a high output TJ pump. I think I will just stick with that setup and throw a stabilizer back on- basically like you Jeff Jeepme.

Steering issues:
possible air in the lines
tie rod roll that did not exist before the ram, perhaps not fully parallel with the tie rod caused this

Brakes:
not sure. brake system is mostly brand new and in great working order. Ill check for a stuck caliper or something of that nature.

I am also going to drop the lift down a few more inches up front, if not 3-4" drop up front. The rear I plan to raise the rear shackle mount to drop it a bit after talking with Rob.

I am going to consider putting some sort of sway bar back on.

I additition to checking every weld posit roll, axle straightness, etc , I also plan to

trade the RAM for a stabilizer
drop front 2-4" down.
drop rear 1/2"-1" (it drops a lot when its loaded)
check toe and caster at new ride height and adjust accordingly.
inspect front and rear brakes/hubs
count my blessings
check all bolts for tightness

Ya that's part of the welds inspection . And replace any bent tube

Re: Re: ...sorry...another build thread...

Hey john. Do you have zj seats in silverback? If so any pics of the fab needed?
I think they are wj.

This chassis owes you nothing anymore.

What is your long term goal? Stupid buggy thing or respectable vehicle?

This would be a fine time to pick up a fresh body.

Turbobrick- the pulley is the stock renix pulley, all metal.

gordon, I have no idea about the seats, for the rear mounts I drilled 2 fresh holes, for the front I used a piece of angle iron. ill post up pics later.

the chassis seems fine honestly. I will inspect everything when I feel like going back out there.

I am considering buying a MJ to build into 33s/lockers mild wheeler to have on the side while this thing sits -build a cage for it and some sliders and bumpers, belly skid, and call it done.
