Hey Jon, check out these welds. I didn't want to destroy the Golden Waggy with my ghetto welds so i paid a fellow jeeper to burn it in.

and we have the driveway as well. youll be able to park at joshs house too.
im sure he wouldnt mind. although i didnt ask him...

Nice! Have to admit I am just too cheap to pay... mine will look more ghetto, but will be plenty strong. That thing is coming right along! Can't wait til Brown Santa brings my truss!

my welds are getting alot better too. in the beginning i had no idea what i was doing.

Join the club, i went through an entire grinding wheel cleaning up my shackle boxes and sliders. Still looks crappy but holding strong so far.. I'm coming over to bring you that axle too. Damm thing still had gear oil in it and it's all over the bed of my truck now.

yah you have dibs . im not sure on the price though.

today i grabbed a ZJ rear seat 60/40 split. best part was that it was only 60$ and its grey leather to match my current gray leather seats...

the zj seat swap is a little more involved than i thought. still working on it.
mocking it all up with self tappers and i will drill it all out when im done and bolt it in...

so the reno run i got to test out:
newly rebuilt spare t case with HD SYE
currie hi9
2x6 rockers
rear bumper with quarter panel sliders
lca skid
front bumper from littleleonard on cherokee forum

and it all worked great
i finished the zj rear sear except the fact that the guy forgot to give me a bracket, so im going to drive up there tomorrow and grab it and buy the front seats as well...

i think the 60/40 split is the only way to bring 3-4 people and all the gear(cooler , etc) in an XJ for wheeling and camping
i was thinking if there are two smaller people you can fit two in the back with the 40 down, and if they are bigger you can just pull the back part of the 40 out completely and keep the seat part normal and that way you could carry like 4 adults or a family of 5 if 2-3 were smaller kids, as long as you made sure the 35" spare was secure.
this will make things interesting when i start building the C pillar part of the cage and the rear cargo rack.
but this way i can easily bring 3 people and all the gear without having to put too much weight onthe roof or off the rear bumper like a rear tire carrier bumper.

Looks good, I was considering doing this sometime during the summer to get some more room and be able to carry my nieces. What are your plans to secure the tire?

still need to get the new dana 30 front axle together on the willys .
i dont really want to buy an air compressor. i am considering selling the ARB and buying a spartan/open carrier/master install kit. i figure it would cost alot less once you factor in the compressor to the arb.
i dunno im up in the fence on this one. the gears in the 30 are super tight when i put the bearing caps on .
not used to that. most XJ axles i mess around with still spin pretty freely when i just have the bearing cap bolts on
