So I bought another one..

Ha yeah definitely sick! But.. I had them on for about a month already so I had to change it up again.

Ill see if I can get my heep up and going by then. 14th or 28th are the only two weekends I would be able to make it so if you guys go one of those weekends I'll see about joining you.

Finally built my diy ruffstuff kit. Well, half of it. Its crazy how much better it rides now. Much softer ride. Probably won't be using the radius arm uppers of the kit, and instead do a true 4 link. Just need to figure out where to place the upper mounts.

Looks good. Not sure 4 links really fit in there.. but I'm not the one to ask. Another thing lots of people don't like is those mounts get hung up. This guy has some really great ideas. Plated the inside and added some .25" Dom across the inside to tuck them up.

Thanks pat. Yeah it sure is tight up there for the uppers. I'm going to be taking it easy on the rocks(wanna play in the go-fast stuff) for awhile so I should be OK for now on the lowers. I might build mounts off the (in)side and above the lower mounts, similar to the synergy 4 link brackets. I do like the angle with the mount being lower though, a lot closer to level. That set-up with the DOM is slick, never would have thought of that. I'm going to be upgrading my trac bar and putting on that same truss you have soon as well.

3 link

I need to do some more research on what kind of 3 link could work. definitely not against it. Id assume one of those truss's going over the pumpkin with a mount on top? I always thought that the side without an upper would be stressed a lot during braking and what not.

Try to 4 link it.
if that doesn't work, build a UCA mount off the pass side inner frame rail.
Cut off the pass side axle side mount and get a Ruffstuff mount.

This is my jeep he is working on!! I should be picking it up tonight!

Time for a little update. I am moving down to San Luis Obispo next week to go back to school (business/engineering). The XJ will be coming down after I find myself a job. I plan on making the XJ more go-fast friendly, as it'll probably see Pismo every now and then. I got 4.56's installed in the rear, but the fronts are still on hold until I pick/can afford a locker.

Some of you might have seen my thread about me looking for an ECO-friendly SUV. Well, I picked up a 02 Mazda Protege5. Not AWD, but around 30 mpg's on the highway and it handles a lot better than I expected. It sure is nice having a nice DD again. Here's a pic:

I think there are a few of you guys living down in the SLO area. Give me a shout!

Well it's almost tax return season.. I have some plans for the XJ, but nothing big. I'm actually changing directions with the jeep again. I plan on lowering the front of the jeep an inch and adding an extra main leaf to my current ones and try to adjust the shackles to keep the height low. I will be attempting to install the front 4.56's, and making my own adj. uppers for the stock mounting points. Then install the SYE and new d-shafts and add some interior organization stuff. Also going to throw on the D44a discs and a new diff cover on the 8.25. Also going to add some armor here and there. I want the jeep to be solid and reliable enough for long trips towing my dirt-bike, while still being able to hit some trails. Winter break is going to be busy!

I'll be hitting you up soon. Just finished the semester and heading to hollister for a week on monday though. Let's grab a beer after the holidays.

On a side note- going to start Autocad classes soon and plan on using up 2 big sheets of stainless I have sitting around. Anyone interested in stainless hood vents cut out all pretty like? Thinking of incorporating a lower side to catch rain/water and divert it. If you have any other ideas let me know. It's maybe 1/16" hospital grade stainless. Could probably get 20-30 sets of hood vents out of it.
