So I bought another one..

So now that I have the front locker.. Am I going to need to upgrade to some chromos? I'm on 32s and will most likely take it easy on the jeep for awhile. I've found a set for less than 500 shipped with a lifetime warranty.

In my opinion no. I'm on factory stock 297 shafts with a locker and 35 bfg ats. I carry spare shafts but I'm not putting any more money in these axles. I haven't broken a shaft yet though. If this was my long term setup I'd be looking for chromos. I wouldn't worry about it to much on 32s

Good to hear. I don't plan on going bigger than 33s, so I'll just save up slowly for a set of chromos down the road.

That's a good plan. Im transferring these axles to my wife rig as soon as I throw together a hp60 and 14b. Hers will go no bigger than 35s and probably stay ats. I'll be going through these axles while they are out. Probably be throwing in some chromos at that point.

Still takin good care of the MJ, just got back from Army basic training. probably gonna sell a street bike and let the modifications continue! Thanks for such a good rig.

Glad to see you're enjoying it. I gotta admit, I do miss that jeep. What do you have planned for it? I was going to do front locker, alloy shafts, and better shocks all around as my next mods.

Oh how that one bit you in the A$$

LOL

Since no one wanted to buy my hp44, I ended up trading it for a set of 35's on some nice 17x9 mickey Thompson alloys. Threw them on just for kicks.

Took a quick trip to hh to test out my new bump stop setup. Worked pretty good. Watched a yota flop because he was so tall.

Jeep worked great, besides the leafs bending the wrong way when stuffed. Going to try to get some new ones in soon.

Heres a boring vid of that section on front of truck hill.

I'm really contemplating long arms... Specificly synergys 4 link. Also going to be doing hood work soon. Not sure how it's going to turn out yet though. Trying to get this thing ready for another Sierra trip.

Those short arms are doing work Tom. Nice.

What's making you think about heading to long arms?

They do work fine for what I'm doing now.. I haven't even cut out the area where lowers hit the lower shock mount area of the axle, so I still have some untapped down travel. But, I just don't feel comfortable beating on it.. It feels like I'm going to grenade an uca(still stock) or the uca mount, when I come down hard. Having those long arms(plus some fancy shocks) would give me some more confidence in the thing. Plus after riding in a 4 door RZR xp1000 recently.... it would be nice to be able to hit some desert roads at a good speed and NOT feel like my front end is going to shake apart. I'm not against making my own long arms, but these kits out here are getting better and better and prices are coming down, so why not?

It seems like it's working pretty darn good where it's at is all. You could just get adjustable uppers and plate the frame and axle mounts and probably be good with the right shocks.

I'm going with the ruffstuff three link kit.

Changed the hood up a bit. Not sure if I like the vents yet, so I haven't cut the hood underneath yet. I got another round of parts to throw on this thing for 4 wheel parts customer appreciation thing at hh on the 20th

Took the jeep out to hh for the 4wheel parts customer appreciation day. They gave out electric viair tire air pressure gauges and a pretty good raffle. I did a pretty tough line and layed the jeep on its side while 3 wheelin it, on both sides.. Almost popped the rear window and tail light but got lucky. Did push in the passenger rear quarter panel a few inches.. No more clean jeep! Kept the hood set up and everyone seems to like it and it grew on me so it's staying. I'll get damage pics up soon.

I was a little off about the pushing in a few inches on the rear quarter panel, it was more like an inch. But still, more than I was expecting I was going to do today. I painted the body with bedliner up to the body line to fill in the space between the fenders, but only on the driverside. the passenger side door took a good hit, but luckily I hadn't painted It yet, so its all good.
