So I bought another one..

Boy I had fun putting those shackle boxes on.. Heres some pics. I am definitely welding these to uniframe. They gave me around 1.5' lift. I found some shocks I had off my 2010 sierra that fit perfectly in the back now. I'll find out tomorrow if I need to do a sye or not. shackle angle came out pretty nice.

Front bumper build later this week/weekend. These are the roxolid bumper brackets.

2x5 .25 with ruffstuff 1 inch bumper clevis's. going to recess clevis's in and weld on both sides/to brackets. I'm thinking about tucking it in closer than where the brackets would have it sit now. or throw some dimple die gussets up top and bottom for looks and strength. also going to be throwing my stock bumper up for sale with with stock tow hooks/brackets. not sure if I am going to run wings to protect the front clip or not. we don't get a lot of deer crossings down here...Ha

FOR SALE. $38.25 (pays for my crossmember)

So I made this tonight. Not done yet, still have to burn in the back side of the brackets and clean up all the welds. I don't know if I'm' doing wings yet.. I like the stubby look. I do want to throw a 2-3inch strip with dimple dies to fill the gap up top.

and my baby.

I would do at least some sort of protection on the sides, otherwise you will be replacing header panels/lights, etc.

how do you like the 252?
i haven't gotten to run one yet but was thinking about picking one up.

No complaints here. I was playing with the settings while burning in the clevis's... this thing has serious power, and can run wire plenty fast to fill any gaps. I ran out of gas welding the brackets to my 9 in the ZJ, so I burned my bumper with fluxcore, but even with fluxcore it wasn't bad at all. On my zj's 9, with gas, it made me feel like I knew what I was doing. I remember thinking to myself it was like drawing with steel. quality piece of equipment.

Upgraded to rugged ridge steering. .25 wall dom tubing with bigger than stock rod ends. Its pretty solid. Will be overkill for what I'm using it for. Alignment tomorrow then try to find which steering stabilizer to use.
.

RR steering, basically 3/4 ton rod ends? Or did you have to drill/ream the knuckles and such? I like how the pass. side hole is vert and not horizontal.
If it drives good enough, SS is not necessary.

Yeah that passenger side adapter rod end swings out forward a good amount so it doesnt even get close to hitting anything. The rod ends are stock taper and placement but 7/8ths size . Not sure what they would be rated at. Im going to throw a stabilizer on it just for the added dampening of any bumpsteer. For 250 shipped, Id say its a pretty good deal.

I have the Ironman4x4fab tie rod, with stock drag link. I would have to measure threads, or ask I guess, but the rod ends for these are basically rod ends for a D250 (IIRC). SO, they are same taper (bolt in), but larger bore threaded into the tie rod.

Well this happened. The whole roof has rust under little cracks in the paint. Hood looks similar as well.. The grinder caught my leg for just a split second but man it does damage quick. Thinking about painting the roof a different color or pattern.. Any suggestions?

Progress. I'm getting pretty stoked for Reno now. I am definitely going to need to trim for the new tires(32x11.5 kevlars), and I have the progressive coil bumpstops going in up front soon as well. Here's a little poser driveway pic

Fenders cut and lined up front. Rears getting same treatment soon. Just waiting on the front locker to come in so I can throw on the new cover. Screwed up on rear bumper mounts so I just made it into a hitch basically, to have a rear tow point
