So I bought another one..

Going to be fabbing up a manifold heat shield this weekend when I pull the manifold to check out the header. also installed a front shock, and again, wrong length.. they are for a 2-3 inch lift, if not bigger.. I already have a RE tracbar and bracket and adjustable lower control arms(still waiting for them).... so I'm going to be throwing a 2inch lift spacer to make it all work. Rear might get a shackle lift, but we'll see how it sits after the front is done. These RC monotubes look VERY similar to the RE monotubes that are on my dads XJ, I wonder if they are from the same manufacturer

Threw the stock shocks back on and the new control arms on. also installed the Accel tune up kit and cleaned the very dirty throttle body. took it out to the hills for a shakedown run and to my surprise... not one noise from the jeep, even when pushed hard through the bumps. I cant remember ever having a jeep that didn't have some kind of noise.. oh and these control arms are GREAT. Made the front end feel so much more solid and feel great in the dirt and the street. There was also a school of some noobs in their 4 door rubi's.. lets just say they were following me around trying out the stuff I was doing. Funny stuff. After today though, definitely see the need for at least a little more ground clearance. 2" coil spacers and a shackle for the back. No pics though. And I have a few more parts coming in soon.. pics next weekend.

thinking about throwing on a set of 5x5 adapters and running some JK take offs (17s) anyone else running this set up? I'm thinking it might stick the tires out too far and look funny.

150 for 5 wheels and tires. Tires should last me about a year.

IIRC, stock JK wheels actually have more BS than XJ's so a spacer should work just fine.
 
Ordered a set of wheel adapters, and should have my lift by this weekend. I have a 5 day trip in south lake Tahoe I am trying to get this ready for. looks like ill be able to finish it time..so far.

So I am mocking up a heat shield to be cut out of that stainless sheet I have. I'm not sure if I want to add on any material around the primaries as it could cause it to get too hot? Also will probably put some kind of spacer, or incorporate it into the design, to pull the shield away from the bottom of the plenum. Anyone with some engineering experience please chime in here. open to ideas and opinions.









 
Put the adapters and 17s on. These are 32s but probably measured 31.5. This is still on stock suspension. I could just take off the flares and trim a bit and they would fit fine.

That header I picked up did not fit. I didn't realize the newer design intake manifold would interfere(to much to massage to fit) I thinking about picking up the 96+ ho manifold to swap in so I can use this header. Any thoughts on this? I still think I would end up gaining power due to the header. The header looks great and the build quality is damm good too. otherwise the header is going up for sale and ill have to take a loss.

Ordered these ironman relocators for the rear. installed some RE coils for a 3-4ish inch lift up front today at the fun factory. thanks again Tim for the help. pics when I get these relocators in. ditching the JK 17s idea and keeping an eye out for a deal on rims/31's.

Prerunner style around Carmel. Shackle boxes should be here soon.. I guess it snowed over on the east coast or something so shipping has been slow. Also picked up the roxolid bumper brackets and ill find some 2x6 3/16th to make a new crossmember and some nice big tow points as well.
 
So put that 44 in one of your rigs.

Just out of curiosity, how much are you going to try and sell your JK wheels/tire/spacers for?
