Show off your garage

Nice layout!

Thanks. My family refers to it as my 3-car saloon.

And the picture was taken before the recent addition of a new bench-top drill press. I can't believe I put off buying one for so long. It makes life in the garage so much easier...

that place is pretty sweet. what's your plan for the layout? game room upstairs? or all workshop?

Thanks!

All work shop, the white doors in the front are there to pass the "planning departments" requirements. Once the building is finished and the final inspection is done the doors and windows will come off and be replace with Roll up doors. The taller section has no ceiling joists, this is where the Mohawk lift will go so we can raise even a full size van high enough to work on it. You can see the roof height in this picture:

Here is another view of the incomplete interior on the two story section.

I don't know how you do it Scott. I work construction in your area and really dislike it. And god forbid you pour anything down the storm drains in those parking garages!!Even water will get you a fine!!

Thanks!

Sweet! Looking forward to seeing it when it's all finished. :chef:

Some progress

I have the lights in the tall section, brings some daylight in on those late night projects.

The lift was shipped last week and the roll up garage doors arrived. On the two story section, I now have a place to put my XJ out of the sun.

Once the lift is installed I can finish the electrical and move on to the drywall.

Thanks,
Fred

Fred, thats gonna be sweet man. My lift is the best thing ive ever bought for my shop. Got a build thread link on garage journal?

even more impressive is Whittier, CA is in the middle of Los Angeles pretty much. This is in an urban area not rural country.

way to go dude!

My first house, and my first garage that's actually "mine":

It's nothing much, but I can fit both my vehicles in it plus a lot of crap. With one just one vehicle in, I can work very comfortably with the door closed (will be nice come winter time). Coating on the floor was done by me a few hours after signing the papers.

Need to rearrange everything to work better. The garage in the house I rented before had more room front to back, this one has more room side to side. Just bought the place in April and i've been on the road since March almost non-stop for work, so it's a wonder it's as half ass organized as it is...

The whole house was pre-wired for surround sound at some point, including the garage and the back deck. So I can be literally anywhere in the house and listen to music at all times.

Next step done

I removed the other set of doors and windows so now the SMB can be parked inside. The roll up door arrived so now all that's left to do is install the frame for the roll up to attach to and they will bring it over.

The lift arrived and I'm told that the company that does the installation will be doing it next week.

Still lots of work room in front of the SMB, I'll just have to get it all organized once I'm finished with the inside

Thanks,
Fred

Correction, Friendly Hills. It's the part of Whittier on the right side of the tracks.

Sorry, Fred.

Who did the masonry?
